It's a miniture ride as often as you like railroad for young and old. We accompanied my daughter, her husband and my grandson. He enjoyed it, as did all of the adults. I spoke with the volunteers who manage and created the idea and they said that it's more adults that ride than children. It's a track that is about 300 yards long, has a tunnel, a bridge, a grade level cross (yes, the train horn blows), and it is a fun thing to do. The musem is very quaint, they have train cars that you can spell your grandchilds name out with. All in all, lots of pleasant fun and very friendly people operating it.

Big like to the volunteers that operate this place. They are doing it with a big love for trains and for ppl. I recommend this stop highly. One thing nia that the is one bathroom in the place and if you are with kids that really need to go that is a problem. I wish they had there at least 4 more maybe honey pot it will be really helpful. Don't forget to donate when you are there to make beautiful place like this up and running.

For the last 5 years we have visited the mini train in Skykomish, WA. **May-Oct** Every Saturday and Sunday from 10am-4pm they have mini train rides, adults that means you too! Hop on and enjoy a ride with your family. The sweetest guys volunteer here and are so helpful when the kids want to ask questions or get just as excited as them about the trains. Feel free to leave them a donation or stop into their Great Northern & Cascade Railway store for a gift.

The kids (and I) had a fun time riding the miniature train. The tracks take you through a wooden bridge, through a tunnel, and a couple other features. Nothing extravagant, but fun all the same. There is a gift shop and an adorable museum that, while life sized, is also small in quantity of items. It's entirely run by volunteers, and donations are accepted. There is no charge, and you can ride the train as many times as you like.

Hi Virginia, our rides are free. As a non-profit organization, donations are appreciated. Our depot/museum hours are Thursday through Monday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Trains run weekends only from the first weekend of May to the last weekend of October. In 5 years of running trains, we have never been closed on a scheduled run day. We run rain or shine on ALL scheduled run days.
You straddle the bench on the train. He might be big enough to sit but you would need to hold onto him. Have fun.
