We had a blast!! Steve was awesome! Light hearted to keep it fun and the nerves away, but all business where it matters. We were first timers so we had a lot to learn. But I have no doubts or worries while I was in his hands. Thank you for doing such a good job! 10/10.

Questions & Answers

What if the weather is not good like raining, and I have booked a reservation?

Binfang Ye | Oct 5, 2018
Valerie | Oct 5, 2018

Weather conditions like rain, wind speed, and even temperature can make jumping unsafe. In that case you would need to reschedule - or hang around and hope conditions change favorably. You won't lose your money, it will apply to your rescheduled jump.

Hi Daniel! We're not sure where Solomon went skydiving for $79.99, but we can guarantee you that you will never find that price listed at any skydiving center. Perhaps he meant $179, which is one of our price points. Is there a weight limit to jump?

Ashley S | Oct 5, 2018
Start Skydiving | Oct 5, 2019

Hi Ashley! Yes, there is a weight limit. The maximum legal suspended weight limit for our tandem parachutes is 500 lbs. This weight includes your weight, your instructor's weight, and the weight of all of the equipment (about 50 lbs). This is why our standard weight limit for students is set to 235 lbs. However, people may be able to jump if they weigh more than this if they are tall and in good physical condition.

What if I have a reservation but because of weather we cant do it? Can I get my money back? I am not from around the area and I will not be able to reschedule.

Sonakshi Rawat | Oct 5, 2018
Start Skydiving | Oct 5, 2018

Hi there! We would recommend choosing the $25 deposit only payment option when you book your reservation so you would only lose $25 per person if you are not able to jump and reschedule for another date within one year. However, if you are able to jump, you will need to pay more than if you prepay in full. Alternatively, you can just walk in without booking a reservation. However, you will end up paying more if you are able to jump. You can find this and much more information on the FAQ page of our website here: http://startskydiving.com/faq If you have any other questions after thoroughly browsing our website, please feel free to contact our main office via phone, chat, or email. We look forward to jumping with you soon! Blue skies!

How do I get to a point where I can jump with girlfriend. Do i get enough experience and training there

Jeremiah McIntosh | Oct 5, 2018
Mandie Kemmer | Oct 5, 2018

Depends on what kind of jump. If you and her want to do a solo jump together. You'd both need to complete the FJC ( first jump course) make the 25 required jumps to obtain your A license. Then you'd be licensed to jump solo and with other licensed jumpers. To take people on a tandem you would need to become a licensed jumper, make the minimum 500 jumps, and obtain a tandem rating. Yes, you can get fully trained at Start. I suggest starting with a tandem jump, if you like it then sign up for your FJC. Blue skies

Can anybody tell me about how much it costs for a first timer ?

chad long | Oct 5, 2018
Valerie | Oct 5, 2018

Without special pricing (which can sometimes be found on Groupon), a tandem jump is $180. You can do an early-bird on Sunday morning (9?) for less, I think it's $120 then. The video package can be pricey, but if you can afford it, you don't want to pass it up.

Do you provide insurance, does the price include insurance?

1 Miscedence | Apr 7, 2022
Start Skydiving | Apr 7, 2022

Hi there! Start Skydiving is insured as a business, but it does not provide insurance for customers. You must provide your own insurance. A legal waiver and agreement must also be signed before being permitted to skydive. These are standard practices in the skydiving industry. Skydiving is a very safe sport when done right and Start Skydiving does it right!

What kind of attire would be good for skydiving?

Chadwick Pearson | Oct 4, 2021
Start Skydiving | Oct 4, 2021

Hi, Chadwick! Comfortable athletic clothing is the best. You will need to be able to pick your legs up, so tight jeans are not preferred. Sneakers or athletic shoes are the best. We recommend pants and a long shirt, but shorts and a t-shirt are acceptable in the summer months. We look forward to jumping with you soon!

Do you have wear a suit while skydiving ?

Cam Gault | Oct 5, 2019
Start Skydiving | Oct 5, 2019

Hi Cam! Thanks for your question! We only require you to wear a jumpsuit if the heat index is under 80 degrees Fahrenheit. If it is 80 or higher, it is your choice as to whether or not you wear a jumpsuit. Keep in mind that if you do not wear a jumpsuit, your shorts/pants may get dirty or torn on landing.

Cynthia Brandt | Oct 5, 2019
Start Skydiving | Oct 5, 2019

Hi Cynthia! There is no need for a doctor's note unless you have a condition that would normally disqualify you from being able to safely skydive but your doctor believes to be good enough for you to skydive safely.

Nope. There's one being built nearby soon. Otherwise, I think Chicago has the next closest. You should definitely sign up to do a true skydive at StartSkydiving though. Very professional and everything feels safe once you take a leap of faith.
