The check in was great. Really quick. View from my room was awesome. The breakfast was really good. Location of the hotel was remarkable. We did have problems with the bathroom toilet. Called in the problem at the front desk and were told that the maintenance crew would not be in until 9:00 a.m. and if we wanted to use the bathroom we could use the one in the lobby. We tried switching rooms, but the hotel was out of rooms that fit our room type. The room also had an odor.

This Hampton inn was Great from the night we checked in till the day we checked out we spent there 5 days oceanfront room well all the rooms at this hotel are oceanfront with large Glass door to it's balcony which was the Best night sleep we've all had in a long time with the ocean Air and sounds and we didn't need to get an app for it. Free breakfast every morning. We were a skeptical of having a boardwalk in between the hotel and the beach but it was an amazing experience we we were serenaded every night by various musicians while it all came to life the beach is kept impeccable just like Disney keeps their ground this city keeps their beaches and you can see it all unfold from your balcony Yes I'm sold on Hampton Inn Virginia Beach South

For the most part, our stay was enjoyable. The view from our room was breathtaking. Waking up each morning to see the ocean waves was awesome! The room was pretty big for a double-bed style room. Breakfast each morning was delicious, and the restaurant had a fabulous view of the beach while I enjoyed my breakfast and coffee. The gym was pretty small but it had just what I needed to suit my exercise regimen. Most hotels are pricey these days, but I felt for the amount of money we paid $1600 for 4 nights was a heavy price tag. Considering that, the customer service should have been much better at the front desk. It was hit or miss. When we first arrived Maya did not greet us nor acknowledge us. We spoke first. She never smiled throughout our whole stay there and didn't seem to care one way or the other that we were staying there. You seemed unhappy and sad with her job. While the others seemed very helpful and at times stepped in for her so maybe she was going through something personal. Also, the swimming pool is in a poor location. As soon as you walk in, the pool is to the right of the lobby and check-in desk, and all guests can see you swimming the minute they walk in. Perhaps the windows should be tinted for privacy. Lastly, uou have to request room cleaning. Really? For $1600 the cleaning is not automatic? Of course we forgot to ask, so our bathroom was filled with towels and trash can running over whenever we forgot. I think cleaning rooms should be standard. Not a request. Outside of those things, our stay was enjoyable. We may stay again next time, but I want to explore other hotels nearby first.

The free breakfast was amazing with a ton of choices and good hot food. Fresh tasty complimentary coffee provided 24/7 along with pineapple infused water on the first floor. The balcony was private and afforded an excellent ocean an beach view. The room was clean, and included amenities such as a large fridge and microwave, real cable TV with a good selection of channels, and comfortable beds. I don't see why this hotel is a 3 star..I have stayed in 5 star hotels with fewer amenities than this one. Staff was friendly and efficient, plenty of dining options in walking distance, plenty of things to do right downstairs on the beach and boardwalk. Very family friendly! The only downside was that the pool was a little small and crowded. The water was clean and the temp comfortable though. Definitely worth a stay here!!
