I have had 3 work orders submitted and incomplete since May. It is now September. The pool is never operational during the summer months but rent is expected to be received on time even with the lack of use of amenities and no attention to work order requests.

I moved here in July 2022. From the initial showing of the model to the move-in, everything was saying don't move here. My move in day was a nightmare, No working sink faucet, no working refrigerator and a filthy apartment. I mean like squatter filthy. I was lied to about everything and the leasing agent to the Manager could care less. When I requested work to be completed the over stressed and worked maintenance man took his frustration out on me. I had to go to Southfield Building inspectors and file a complaint about my apartment. Unfortunately, I had selected the wrong place to move because Bayshore the previous owner was not interested in the tenants, just the money. So nothing was done. I went 4 weeks without a properly working washer and dryer, 5 weeks without an operational refrigerator. I pleaded with the leasing manager and assistant manager and never received a response even when I sent pictures of my insulin that I needed to keep at a certain temperature. Marquette Management is now the owners and they have their work cut out for them. I will give them kidos because it was only after they came onboard and I actually met with their transition team did I receive a working refrigerator. I was also compensated financially for the hardship I had been through. But it is going to take awhile for things to move to satisfactory. Bayshore allowed this once beautiful property to turn into a projects. Filthy parking lot, filthy carpets, parking needs to be redrawn because the parking spots and carports are extremely tight. They still need to increase their maintenance staff and have alot of building upkeep. But it can not 100% rest on the management team but a mindset change with the residents. I have watched how some throw trash outside, do not comply with pet rules as well as trash valet rules. This was once a beautiful complex and if you know the history of Southfield their homes and apartments rivaled all other suburbs before Royal Oak came to be the premier place. So I pray the new team can get a handle on this property. So it's still renter beware, ask the right questions and investigate everything that they try to sell you and insist on view the property not just looking at a model. Maybe you'll have a better experience than I have experienced. But I do appreciate the transition team from Chicago. I have no vote of confidence in the people they kept from the previous owner but there's hope they will change how they work and become a successful team.
