I am dealing with this office now and they are very unprofessional and rude they act like they are funding your voucher out of their pockets when I had gone to another state to get this hard-earned voucher that I had very professional ladies give me this voucher I had earned by going into an office! These clowns 🤡 in this office need to be investigated for telling individuals they can't get their moving papers and also not responding back to emails that have or calls you leave them! 🤔🤔🇺🇸🇺🇸👎👎👎👎👎💩💩💩💩💩
Feck Off
My caseworker is also Aurillia Johnson. Apparently she is deathly allergic to returning phone calls and answering voice mails. Bless her heart, the poor thing.

I'm afraid to port in but the south side area seems to be covered by this one office. I never seen so many negative reviews on a business especailly a govt agency. How is that possible? the head of housing Wendy Walker Williams, and or Kristin Faust I'm sure is not aware of the above unprofessionalism n malpractice emanating from this one office? Omg! I would suggest that if enough people reach out to Secretary Marcia L. Fudge, the 18th Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. She would most likely have her people look into this office. "We the people" need to do more than complain, write a letter, make some noise ..

Don’t do it they’ll give you a studio voucher
Just google cook county voucher payment standards 2018
Yolanda Lanier I cannot receive foodstamps. Me and my daughter receive over the max of SSDI so we can receive medical from public aid. I need housing assistance
Google cook county voucher payment standards 2018 or go to the housing authority web site in your area they have a section that answer some of the landlord questions
They never answer the phone smh you have to go in
Write to them!
Yup they have an drop box for dropping off papers (even on Wednesday).
Just google cook county voucher payment standards 2018 the sheet will show
It depends on the reason for eviction. If you are getting evicted because of non payment.. you must have a valid reason.
By appointment only/or you can drop off your paperwork.Of coursetheres an option of using the USPS or email👍
Yeah, but you have to add them to your voucher
Go to a family shelter & while there apply to as many housing opportunities as you can. If you do go to a shelter, get a case Maher that will genuinely assist you. Or you can apply for housing in another state. Some housing lists have preference points that they start housing people for. For example: it will say something like:, must be homeless, must be a victim of crimes against women, must be a victim of domestic violence, etc. Check out this website www.affordablehousingonline.com. With moving to any new city/state, PLEASE DO additional research on that area. Also Minnesota helps women with children quicker.
Contact your caseworker ,they have a phone number.leave a message.
Yes they go by 2 heartbeat rule
Yes, You will have to speak to someone to port out.
you don't have to share a room but you only get the 1 bedroom rate . you can rent a bigger unit too
I think she is talking about the landords who join section 8 and start renting to section 8 tenants. Section 8 staff would only pay landlords by direct deposit. Tenants can pay by money orders check or what ever way the landlord decide
I believe you can leave documents with the person at the window upstairs.
8:30am to 4:30pm
Yes
HACC…Housing Authority of Cook County!
How long did it take you to get your package??
I not exactly sure just says applicants will be selected randomly for the waitlist
I believe there is an office location at 175 w Jackson downtown
Call the customer service line at 855-466-7467.
My wife works for housing authority cook county. The wait list is open you can apply online. Www.thehacc.org
Look at your sheet they gave u in your briefing or u may be able to look it up online.
The waiting list is closed but they are doing low income housing for Skokie IL and Evanston IL go to there website and apply.
Yes
No it's not free parking, it's best to take public transportation or if you drive you'll have to pay for parking.
Any other options for low income?
Stay where you are. There’s 2 different housing offices in Chicago. One is HACC the other is CHA. CHA is your best option because HACC workers are lazy and don’t do their job right. If you want to port out of Iowa and into CHA, you need to contact CHA and your caseworker from the section 8 you have in Iowa and let her know you want to port out. She will fill out the needed paperwork. I’m not sure if you have internet at home but you could’ve easily googled it
You can seek help through Catholic charities
When you was released you should've told them you didn't have a place to live cause they would've help you find a place in a halfway house, and If you have a PO you can let your PO know that you need a place to live and they should be able to help you out with housing, even a program to help you find employment so check in with your PO and let him or her know your situation. I wish you the best of luck.
You can only apply once the waiting list opens up.
First off go to the management office and just ask them why is it that you owe them? If you payed your rent, & kept your receipts take them with you to show proof that you don't owe anything! If you don't owe them then I suggest you contact the housing authority and speak with your case manager and hopefully they can assist you in resolving the problem or maybe locating somewhere else.
I applied for section 8 in 2010 I don’t know what’s going on I have an number but don’t know how to retrieve it
You actually pay your portion of the rent to your landlord
Check into Catholic charities as mentioned for rental assistance. Also call 311 & ask for short term help. And lastly look into St Vincent DePaul
West suburbs chicago application for city housing section 8 best suburbs
I suggest you call your case manager and see what is going on.
It all depends on who your case manager is, just call your case manager and ask him or her for the fax number!
Who do you apply through?
Hello Ms Jennifer Powers again, no this is will be my first time for apply section 8 and I don’t have their voucher
Thehacc.org
Google chicago housing authority. If they have waiting list open you could apply...This also is a great site even though its closed you can still call and get on waiting list . also look in newspapers daily for open waiting list http://www.chicagosubhousing.com/m/page/North+Side+Affordable+Housing
Go in
Usually you can move in once the rent is set. But have to be careful the landlord has to sign the HAP contract.
Yes you can
HACC.org
30 days but you gotta do it in writing. email you caseworker so they cant say they didnt get teh mail
Depends on global warming.
The case workers boss.
Usually not but check with building & zoning.
Cook County.
I think 60-90 days.
Once you tell them that you want to port out, you have to attend a workshop and then it's up to you to find a place which they give you I believe 60-90 days to do.
Housing program funds have been cut by 6 billion dollars which is why the bedroom size has been changed this was done by the Trump Administration
Yup my sister has 3 girls plus herself they took her 3bdr n gave her a 2
The office is open to the public everyday except Wednesdays from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
You go to Cook County Housing Authority at 175 Jackson Blvd in Chicago 3rd fl. I think the wait list may be closed though. But if you already have a voucher and want to port in from elsewhere you can do that.
This is a public forum. You'll want to ask them directly.
Call the police have a RD,. Put on them. And when you get to court show the state and the judge have a copy of both..
Thomas said the same thing.
What kind of payment plan ? I would just call the number and ask
You can call the main number and get that specific fax number. Are you a voucher holder or is it something else?
