Excellent food, extremely friendly owner. You can pick anything at random off the menu here and not go wrong. I did that, and I was not disappointed. If you are unfamiliar with this type of cuisine, you can also ask the owner who will help guide you to an excellent choice. I very much enjoyed that when the food was brought out, he informed us of where in the world/region our dish originated from, and the intricacies involved in preparing it. This enabled me to appreciate it that much more. After dinner, I was able to talk to the owner some about our global travels and discovered our eyes have seen many of the same landscapes few people get to see in some very remote parts of the world. I encourage you to take the path less travelled in global cuisine and come here.

Stopped in with some friends based on a recommendation from one of them. We were the only guests upon arrival and we seated ourselves but another party arrived halfway through our stop. Looking over the menu the owner explained what each dish is and what region it comes from. A very nice, useful, and unexpected experience. After looking over the menu we decided to order a cold appetizer sampler. Once the appetizer arrived it had several different options including pita, babaganoush, hummus, Spanish eggplant, potato salad, matvucha, and a fifth option I, unfortunately, forget the name of. Each option was very good and could be a meal by itself. After placing our main course order the food came out quickly. I ordered the special which was lamb shank served with carrot and raisin rice. The lamb shank was very tender but a bit bland. The rice was cooked perfectly and was very good. I ordered a slice of lemon cake to go and it was delicious. Overall my first experience here was completely positive. I found the prices to be a bit high but won't stop me from going back. Highly recommend!

Omg! I didn't know this place existed until Monday. Warwick Blvd in Newport News near a shopping center. I got the Lamb kabob dinner, which was $21 and it had enough to feed two people. Loved the salad, different rices and the kabobs were tender and tasty. I did a side order of baked eggplant $7.50 and it was so good I'm going back today.

Not only was the food amazing, but the owner is a true humanitarian. While eating a homeless person came in & without hesitation the owner quickly made him a meal with drink & dessert. If you’ve ever wanted to try Middle Eastern food this is the place to go! You will leave satisfied that you got an amazing meal & are supporting a truly wonderful business.

The prices are a little high, but worth it
The owner says they do a buffet at lunch time, but i haven't been there for it. He does not have one at dinnertime.
Check out Anand Bazaar in NN for tea.
