Usually when I'm here I'm greeted as soon as I walk in. Today at 3:10 I walked in and the greeter just looked at me, no smile, no hey nothing. Not use to this behavior at navy Federal.

Worst branch in the Hampton Roads area. Tellers not willing to help. Lines are LONG LONG LONG and tellers SLOW SLOW SLOW. AVOID AT ALL COST. The other banks are faster and don't make you wait outside in the scorching sun or freezing cold and rain. Not much of a difference in rates and now days you can do banking with anyone from anywhere.

I understand this COVID-19 pandemic has affected business hours and how things normally operate, however I am extremely disgusted with this particular branch location. On May 2, 2020 at 1100 I arrived to utilize the drive thru service and there were several cars waiting in line (wrapped around the building). This was a Saturday and on Saturday’s I understand they close at 2 p.m. My child and I sat in that line as I continued watching the time; thinking at some point someone from NF would come out and place a cone in front of the entrance to the drive thru to establish a cut off point, but that never happened and cars kept on adding to the line. The line gradually moved and moved til finally I became the fourth car awaiting service. Mind you, I had been waiting over two hours now. Next thing I know, the vehicle that had just pulled up to the “window” had gotten out of his car and I could tell he was extremely upset. He then got back in his car and drove off, along with the two other cars that were ahead of me. I rolled my window down to find out what had just happened; and as I get to the “window”, I realized the teller had shut it down. I can understand not rendering service to those that had just pulled up but for those of us who had been sitting in that line for over two hours?! And I know that teller wasn’t the only person in that building, where somebody couldn’t have come out to put up a cone or make an announcement...something! Myself and everyone that had been waiting, pretty much sat there for nothing and I was extremely angry with how inconvenienced I was...and I’m sure the other customers felt the same way. For the duration of these modified procedures, NF need to come up with a solution to prevent this from happening again. Nowhere in my plans did I/do I anticipate just sitting in my car (on a Saturday at that), in the drive thru of NF just gazing at other cars for nothing. Nor do I feel I need to get out my bed at the crack of dawn just to be the first in line, in order to be guaranteed service. And from what I’m told, the employer was so “matter a fact” about it; stating, “We close at 2.”

It takes so long for this location. Need more than one drive thru for sure and better parking. If you’re not waiting in line, you’re driving around just to find a parking spot. Never go during lunch! It seems like everyone wants to go at that time of day. I find that if you go super early and be the first one there when they open, you’ll have better luck.

Absolutely. The great thing about Navy Federal Credit is membership is open to family and friends. Also, you may join anywhere and have access throughout the US, as well as internationally.

Yes. Just be prepared to wait in the line longer at the drive thru than parking and going inside.
