Incredible and low-cost ($5 donation encouraged but not required) farm/petting zoo for everyone. Two black bears, rehabilitated from Roanoke VA) are on premise which made our child’s day! Plenty of shaded area mixed with full sky areas, so bring sunscreen for sunny days when the sun is strong. You can easily spend a whole day here, it seems. We were only able to spend 3 hours but it was wonderful for our family and was a great way to pass time til dinner. We spent $1 on animal food to feed the goats. Seems like all the kids went wild feeding the animals as there was plenty of excited chaos and joy in the goat areas. Will be back again and see more animals. You will not be disappointed.

What a wonderful place to experience wildlife and go on a nice nature walk. Very clean and well kept. Great place to tire out the kids

Enjoyed visiting the farm with kids. Beautiful farm in the middle of the city. The entry is free with suggested donation of $5. Only got to see domestic /farm animals and most of the wild animals and birds were taken out. Long walks and very hilly but beautiful sceneries.

Absolutely love Maymont! It's so enjoyable for the whole family young and old!! Beautiful site and such a breath of fresh air! Make sure you wear walking shoes and bring water. They do have facilities on site but mainly at the beginning of the walk

Maymont, including the Farm, historic estate and 100 acres of parkland, is owned by the City of Richmond. The property was given by the owners James and Sallie Dooley to be enjoyed by everyone as a park and museum. The care, daily operations and annual budget costs are managed by the nonprofit Maymont Foundation.
No, you are unable to drive through Maymont. We have a parking lot located at the Farm (1001 Spottswood Road) and paved paths for walking.
To visit the grounds, gardens and outdoor animal habitats it is free for all. There are special times throughout the year where we might charge admission to help with the upkeep of the estate. The Robins Nature Center is admission based. Kids under 3 are free.
