Update: this review was based off of my first office with this doctor, because almost immediately I was sent a link to review my experience. Now that several months have gone by and I had a surgery with this doctor, my review is changing. Communication: poor! Doctor didn’t listen to me as the patient stating “I prefer not have surgery but if it is necessary to fix this, let’s do it.” He then refused to order an MRI based on the first visit to have an actual look at what was going on in my joint. Instead I limped around for 2 whole months, because well, the mri was ordered after the next visit, takes a week for the results to be reviewed and then two to three weeks out for scheduling a surgery. Post surgery, NO BODY from Illinois Bone and Joint was in my recovery room to tell me how the surgery went and to explain about the complication that was encountered! In order to say it was bad bedside manner they would have to be bed side. This was absent medical care. Needless to say not impressed and I do regret going to this surgical group. Question everything, have it explained more than once, cus that changed on me too. I asked how long recovery was for this surgery and was told 6-8 weeks here I am at the 12 week mark and still can not walk correctly, the recovery protocol sent to the physical therapist is a 20 week worksheet. So… my plans for this have dramatically changed as things were lined up based on the timeline of 6-8 weeks but now 20 weeks is what’s expected. Yay :/ And when requesting ibuprofen renewals this doctor denied the renewal request and then tried to push a designer prescription that costs $3,000 out of pocket because he makes money on writing on those scripts versus actually caring patient needs. Going to Illinois bone and joint was definitely the biggest mistake of my life! Read update above. Excellent care, quick assessment including X-ray and clear and reasonable treatment plan established. Staff was friendly and ver accommodating.

If there were no stars ,they would definitely get none I advise anybody not to go to this place,I had a appointment here and came all the way from Burnham illinois and was not seen by the doctor because they claim I need a referral, I then call my primary doctor's office and said a referral was sent already and that they would send another just call and make another appointment which I did that, they had my on hold then the phone rung no one picked up then they switched me on hold again then the answering machine said they don't except calls from personal numbers which I made a appointment the first time from my personal phone,I never want to ever go to this place,I feel like they're either prejudice or they just have poor customer service skills, this is not the place you want to go.

I arrived 30 minutes prior to my appointment for paperwork, then waited two hours past the appointed time to be seen by Dr. Westin. I explained the issue in my hip joint, and he stated he does not know how to treat spinal issues (again, it's the HIP) and asked if I had seen an OB-GYN. Then he referred me to a female ortho doctor because we, "share the same lady bits." Lady bits. PSA ladies: if you have any kind of hip/back issues, it's probably your baby maker that's to blame because apparently it's 1954 and we can't be trusted to know anything about our bodies.

83 year old mother shows up for an appointment on time and after 2 hours waiting, for nothing, was told the doctor wasn't there and needs tor reschedule. I made the appointment for her and they acknowledged it. The reception and scheduling process is broken.
