Having a daughter with a disability is a very difficult thing but knowing that I can count on Atlantic to provide the care she needs when I'm at work is very comforting.

I have the best job in the world! Helping people who need it the most is so rewarding. My agency and thier staff make my job a pleasure. They're very attentive to the needs of our patients and caregivers. I've been working with them for over a year and have always had my cares and concerns taken seriously. I genuinely love my job and the schedulers and front desk staff are excellent. Thank you Atlantic In Home care!!

Atlantic In-Home Care provided the perfect fit in caregiving just when we desperately needed help in caring for our mom. Their staff listened well to our desire for an aide with the appropriate level of skills and a heart toward understanding and commitment, and they found just the right person to become part of our family. Atlantic’s staff communicates promptly and professionally. It has been our great pleasure to work with this agency.

While everything is flexible, usually clients pay for services on an hourly basis with a 3-hour minimum per visit and 15 hours per week minimum. The rate depends on the caregiver's compensation requirements, the intensity of the care, the location, the schedule and other factors that impact the degree of difficulty of the case. We are relentlessly focused on customer service. Every week we receive new cases from other companies that fail to cover all shifts with qualified care providers. We know how important it is to “show up” to provide the services needed. Your caregiver costs are slightly higher to provide this level of service but we are committed to referring nurses to get the job done for clients every day.

What is the difference between Muscular Dystrophy and Multiple Sclerosis?

Atlantic In-Home Care, LLC | Oct 4, 2019
Atlantic In-Home Care, LLC | Oct 4, 2019

Essentially, Muscular Dystrophy attacks muscle cells and Multiple Sclerosis attacks nerve cells. Multiple sclerosis occurs when your immune system attacks the nerve cells in your brain and spinal cord. The damage that results from this autoimmune activity can lead to problems with vision, bowel and bladder control, sensation and muscular function. It is not clear what initially stimulates your immune system to attack your nerve cells. Muscular dystrophies are inherited disorders that lead to abnormalities of specific proteins within your muscle cells. Over time, these defective proteins cause progressive loss of muscle function. Unlike multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy does not damage the nerves in your central nervous system. People with muscular dystrophy often have hormonal and metabolic abnormalities, such as low testosterone levels and insulin resistance.
