I live in Alberta and use this crossing weekly and I find the border staff to be courteous and professional. The hours of operation were reduced significantly so it does cause issues when you are trying to make a day trip. The best advice I can give you is make sure you return by 4pm or so because many times there is a long line to get back in; especially on Sundays. If you miss the 6pm closure, your next option is Coutts (on I-15 N) which is about 2.5 hours from this one.

Applied for my TN visa here and the process was quick and smooth. The officers were very nice and friendly. I was there on a Thursday morning and there i was the only one in line.
