I usually cross through calexico very often and all i use is my ID and my Birth certificate and i never get sent to secondary inspection.

I don't think so

Don't count on the East border being open. The website information is never correct. The last two times I went there the East border was closed while the website said 20 minute wait. They're playing with us.

First: Did you go for an interview in person at the Homeland Security office? If you have NOT you must make an appointment to do so to get your SENTRI card. The approval notice means you passed the background check. There should be instructions on how to make the appointment. Secondly if you had your car added, log into the website with your username and password. Then you will find a MENU. ( It is different on mobile platforms but 3 parallel lines or dots or the word Menu is somewhere.) Find PROFILE and select click on that. There is where it shows your status and approvals. It is also where you can add or exchange or delete your cars and change your address. It will show your vehicle under vehicles if you are approved.

Permits are 24 hours a day at the west port entry. The downside is that because of the holidays, wait times to get permits are up to 5 hours some times.

Vehicles no longer require to have a decal. I would recommend that you go to your nearest Sentri office and inform the officer of what happened. As long as your vehicle is already enrolled in the program you shouldn't have any issues, but I would visit the Sentri office

You don't have to pay taxes when you re-enter the USA. You might have to pay taxes in Mexico, it all depends on the item or commodity

There are two main ports of entry in Calexico California non-commercial travelers the downtown/West Port and the East port. the downtown port is 24/7 you can enter and pay what is known as IRT Internal Revenue tax the East port you can enter up to 11 p.m. That is 6 a.m. to 11p.m. And pay any IRT. If you go to the East port and you enter after 11 p.m. You could be turned around to go to the downtown Port.

No one is allowed to be picked up inside the facility due to rules and regulations. Pedestrians have to be picked up outside the Federal Property perimeter.
