Found a dog in baton rouge and they took it and found a home for it. It's a no kill shelter with people who love animals. Good job Caras. Finally found people who care. This is a great place to send donations or food. Honest hard working people who live the animal they care for.

Take it to a vet - honestly. Cara's house is a shelter and re-home facility, they will do their best to take care of any animals brought to them, but if the kitten needs immediate help, take her to a vet if you can afford it first.
Technically they can be brought in at any age but if at all possible leave them with the mother for 12-13 weeks so they can properly wean off the mother.
It depends on whether or not an adult is accompanying you. Volunteers of almost any agree are welcome, but those under the age of eighteen usually must be accompanied by an adult. Please call the shelter directly to get specifics.
Fees aren't based on size of the animal. It's $50 to owner surrender a pet. It's $10 to surrender a stray. You can also contact the shelter via their Facebook page here for all the most current information: https://facebook.com/carashouseascension/
We are only allowed to accept animals from Ascension Parish and require proof of residency. For an owned animal that has been spayed/neutered, the fee is $25. For animals that are not fixed, the fee is $50. Stray's are $10/per animal.
