Not sure what these people are doing. But not trying to get dogs adopted. I tried here in B.R. and in Mandeville. Here they said the dog I was interested in was returned 2x although the website said he was sweet and cuddly. In Mandeville ,they had us apply for certain dog. My daughter had to call them after no response. Ofcourse they said he had been adopted. Just trying to find playmate for my new puppy. That my daughter bought after my other 2 dogs died. Both were patients at LSU VET. I probably spent $20 000 at LSU trying to keep my dogs alive. The last surgery was $7,000. So I don't see how they think I am not qualified to take care of a dog that needs a home. Will not try and deal with these people again. This also happened to other people I know. Go to B.R animal shelter. And really help a poor dog find a loving home.

We had a very unpleasant experience at this shelter. We applied to adopt a sweet pup and got accepted the same day. Set up a meet and greet that they require before adopting the very next day and it went great. When we asked what the next step was to take her home, we were told it would be double the price we were expecting to pay bc she wasn't spayed yet. I understood that the extra fee was a deposit that would be returned upon completion of her surgery but we were taken by surprise as no one let us know about this fee. We asked what I think may have been the "director" if we could pay the $200 we were expecting to pay and then get puppy after the surgery was done to which she stated very curtly "We don't hold puppies." I left there explaining that we really wanted her still but understood that she could possibly be adopted by others but if they could please let me know when she gets scheduled for her spay. We decided to move money around and come back the next day hoping she'd still be there. I emailed them that we'd be back the next day to complete the adoption process to which i never got a response. Unfortunately the next day we were told that they had gone with another application bc we had shown disinterest. The manager stated that we could have put down the initial adoption fee to hold her till her surgery was complete which we had been told before that they "don't hold puppies." It was very unprofessional to hear one thing from one person and then entirely different information from another. Not to mention that "director" was super rude. And I overheard her saying she google earth's the applicant homes which was also super creepy. We will not be coming back again although I'm sure they wouldn't care in the least.

How much
One can be part of a group as a service project or can drop by the house to sign up as a volunteer to play & socialize with the dogs.
Friends of the Animals is not an intake shelter and cannot take your animals. If you live in EBR Parish, you need to take them to Companion Animal Alliance.
It depends on the size of said dog however none of the fosters will allow for an adoption to take place. They and the shelter will just have you running ragged making you waste all your hard earned cash just to deni the adoption. In all honesty your just better off buying a dog.
Not sure check their website and see
Yes they do. Check out their social media.
I have a smart shihtzu mix im taking to the pound ( adoption center ) tomorrow
Best way to find out is to call the house directly!
Depends on what u choose in thinking. I got a dog 6 pounds 129.00 plus the chip turn on
I didn't see any in the room I was in.
No, she has been adopted.
FOTA BR is a dog adoption organization. Cat Haven or CAA would be good alternatives.
A 14 year old can volunteer if they have a parent or legal guardian present.
Possibly. You should call the shelter.
Yes. How do I attach a picture?
