Came here with my son’s second grade class on a field trip. I found the tour guides extremely knowledgeable, well organized, and patient with young 7/8 year old children. Would recommend! The grounds are beautiful and so serene.

I have been a wedding photographer in Nashville for a decade and absolutely love this venue. The staff (especially Mary Jo) is so kind and the property offers many amazing ceremony locations with a solid rain backup plan. 10/10!

What is the cost for the tour of the plantation?

We went on a school field trip and it was $10/person (adult or child).

Why does it say the plantation is open today on the website? We are from Central Illinois and put this place as one of our destinations on this trip. We get there and the sign says Tuesday theiugh Saturday

Can you take photos there without paying a fee?

No you have to pay a fee to get on the grounds of house. Fee is $14 if I remember correctly.

I did the tour really good experience in the history the of the judge's home history of the Tennessee army civil war on and on tour guide :-) :-) thumbs up

BROWN, LAVINIA R. (HILL). "THE FAMILY OF GEN. JAMES ROBERTSON." The American Historical Magazine 1, no. 2 (1896). On page 175 of the above cited article, the author indicates that General James Robertson once lived at Travellers Rest. Is this true?

Travellers Rest or Travelers Rest is/was a very common name. James Robertson’s house was also named “Travelers Rest.” There was also a Travellers Rest Inn close to the I-24/Harding Road intersection.
