There is a $8 fee to enter Captree State Park. You can fish on the docks free and fish on the beach for free. If you have an Empire Pass you can use that instead of paying the $8 fee.

You don't need reservations but suggest you make them as the boats fill up fast. You don't need a fishing license on a party boat as you are covered under their charter fishing license. BBQing is done on shore before or after your fishing trip.

Tiki Joe's at the marina is open late and you can walk yo sandy beaches from there. No open fires anymore. The beach area with BBQ's and tables closes at night and is patrolled.
Besides fishing on party boats, we've also done crabbing on the long boardwalk/pier, picnic/BBQ, swimming, etc., also recommended, the newly completed hiking/biking trail all the way to Jones Beach, 13+ miles one way.
