We like this camping area (no amenities) along hwy 95 in Nevada because it is close to the road and Death Valley NP. Doesn't hurt that there are many ATV trails and the sand Dunes right there. Enjoyed Rhyolite, Beatty, Ash Meadows NWR, and visited the Alien Center rest area and Big Bovine of the Desert for pictures. Small markets - Martel's and one along the hwy to Ash Meadows had most of the basics for food.

Dusty as promised. I went in the east side and stopped with my travel trailer as soon as a could. Still had tons of bikes and 4 wheelers racing by constantly - dusty. Great place if you own a bike or 4 wheeler. Bad place if you're looking for any degree of solitude. Good stars on a new moon, but not really a black sky. After one night, I moved farther east and found better star gazing, much less dust, and much less noise.

South side of the Amargosa ."singing" sand dune . so named because on a quite eve if yo push the freshly blown sand down the slope ..it resonates and hums ... Good place to ride the very soft sand .. Watch for other riders . Be advised very fine grains swallow ..."things". The wind stacks it up daily. Filter masks recommended not fun in high wind ...! Protect this great off road play place and keep the Gov. off of it. ...by supporting the local business Fed park fools want to close it ... Just say NO ! To Government intrusion

Yes yes yes, safe as it gets. I like canned soup
Technically it's a BLM area(bureau of land management)which is taken care by the government for our enjoyment 😉 that's why it's a free day use and camping
No, just an information sign at a clearing (and open desert floor and lots of sand, of course! ;-)
