Went last week. Teague's stall was the only one that took EBT, though it is fairly large and has a good deal of produce, bacon, and jams available. If you stop at the main shoppe facility, across from the garden center, park, walk into the entrance between the two buildings and take a left, Teague's is the first shoppe on the right.
One other stall, just past Teague's, said they were going to work on getting EBT set up over the winter and a third, at the end of the other building, said they used to but couldn't offer it any longer; Unfortunately the government makes it very complicated to set up and VERY expensive to maintain.

There are several people in the area who collect wild mushrooms. Craigslist or Facebook might be a better resource to find wild mushrooms. However, generally you can find cultivated mushrooms and maybe some wild collected mushrooms. Mushrooms are grown in small amounts on very small farms and most are marketed directly to restaurants and individuals. If you find local mushrooms it would most likely be in the retail section of the market rather than the farmer's areas. Good luck in your search...

Carolyn is in our NC farmer shed and is usually gone by mid-morning, but you can find them in other places around the Market. If you are coming from a distance and want to guarantee that a volume amount is available (two or more bushels), you should probably call us and we can get you in touch with a seller so they can hold it for you. If it's just a small amount, you can find them most any day. Office phone: (828) 253-1691

Be sure and check the bottom area of the market sometimes they have items other vendors don't in limited supply before the fresh daily loads start to roll in and flood the market. I did see plenty beets at the local Ingles grocery so the market should be loaded with them soon if not already.

Most of the big Flagship Ingles' have fresh shrimp\seafood on a bed of ice in the Fish Market section. Additionally, they have a good selection of pre-packaged frozen shrimp. Also, on occasion someone sets up temporarily on Merrimon Ave. under a tent and sells out of large coolers, although i've never stopped because Ingles always has what i need and if they don't have it they'll order what I want.
