I’ve lived in Hanahan for over 60 years. I love it. I don’t understand the bad reviews about our schools. They have always been some of the best in the state. Of course the football got all of the funding and the women’s sports were sorely neglected. Hopefully that is better now. Great job on the revitalization . Hope that continues. Our politicians do get stuck in the”good old boy” mindset, but hopefully some new people will get involved and give the city the budget it needs to keep up with the times and continue to improve in the areas where it is most needed. Very proud when I went to the dry cleaners and the new owner said the police check on her throughout the day , and really care about the community. Love Hanahan and if it’s not a good fit for some residents the houses sell fast and the interest rates are at an all time low.

Hanahan is a city in a transitional phase. What used to be a sleepy town with little ordinance control is slowly moving to improve its image and quality of life. If you look for the negatives (trailers and trash in front yards) you will find that. If you look for the positives and future growth...you will see signs of revitalization. Where else can you live 5-minutes from the airport and 15-minutes from downtown, and purchase a home for under $200K? Look to the future!
