OK, first of all I'm still alive, so they get credit for that. Had a severe life threatening infection of the liver and was there for 8 days, including 1 night in ICU. The nursing care was sporatic at best, and often neglectful. The ICU nurses were very condescending, grudgingly giving basic care and questioning whether I was addicted to pain meds because I had taken a narcotic prescription for TWO days before admission. Had she checked my record first, or questioned me in a proper way first, she would not have needed to accuse me of such. I am a retired RN with hospital experience for 13 years, so I have some insight. I entered through the ER- which gave me decent treatment- never expecting to be an inpatient for so long (I would have gone to Piedmont's ER if I'd known.) On admission my BCBS insurance plan was approved with Emory Adventist as a contracted hospital. But they do not allow you to have your own doctor, and assigned me an MD that was NOT on my plan, not telling me or giving me an option. I now have a bill for almost $1000 from that Dr, this after the huge monthly premium I have to pay, and the deductible I've had to pay. They are not up front and I don't trust them. In addition, they required my husband to pay over $1000 on my admission and even though the insurance paid that later, they are delaying the refund. Go somewhere else if at all possible.

Not sure they do that

When did this hospital open officially? Are they only an orthopaedic & spine hospital, or multipurpose?

It is not a hospital. It is several specific clinics. They also have a lab, physical therapy, and radiology, but it's not a full hospital.
