A nice grounds with interesting historic homes. Just know the insides have limited dates to take a tour. We were not able to go on the tour. The site says something about this but it could be made a lot more clear. I think the site could benefit from more information signs or an audio tour. The self guided tour which cost $10 was simply a PDF download.
Non-members pay a daily car fee for entry to the Preserve. Hempstead House is not currently open, but when indoor events become safe again, there may be a separate fee to attend an event there.
Are they still charging admission to the preserve?

Yes, as long as they are on leash at all times except in the dog run.
I see they open at 11am tomorrow. Does anyone know if you can get in earlier - even just for the playground/and or beach? Or is everything closed off until 11? Also there is definitely still beach access?

The Guggenheim's named it after the view of Hempstead Bay from the back of the house.

There is plenty of parking.
The shuttle that takes you there stops right next to the parking area.
The parking area is actually a large open field.
Very convenient for handicapped persons.
Barely a 10 foot walk.
