VERY good program! I received my first guide dog from them and she’s extremely professional and has the best personality and temperament! They have a very hands on training system and I love how much they value and cherish each and every dogs health, happiness and well-being.

I work here, you have to work your way up to a Level 4 volunteer if you wish to do what we call "free run" the dogs, basically you take them out to play in our yard. If you wish to train, you can apply to be a puppy raiser in which you raise a dog from when its 8 weeks to over a year old and teach it basic manners and public access. This is a process. But there are no volunteer positions to simply show up and help with training, as the dogs in the Training Center need to undergo a very strict and standard regiment in order for them to succeed, professional GDF trainers are the only ones qualified to carry this out. For volunteering, call and ask for Barrie.

If they aren't suited for guide or vet dog work sometimes they are considered for other organizations such as ATF. Most of the time however, they are adopted by their puppywalker or someone else whom is approved to adopt.
