You guys say your open until 9 and I pull up and it’s closed and it’s 2:30. Not sure why it would say you guys close at 9 on a Monday and your not open

The pools are insanely chlorinated and I'm sure there is some kind of regulation requiring that, but it's not a fun swim, but is functional for exercise. The sauna is consistently not hot enough. Everyone who uses the steam room complains about the sauna being consistently not hot enough. The showers in the men's locker room always smell terrible, I hold my breath when I walk through. But the #1 biggest issue with the Glenwood park YMCA (and I'm sure the others as well)is the hours. On weekdays they close at 8pm, so everyone who wants to go after work has about a 3 hour window to share the space and if you're someone who likes to work out late, that's to bad. The weekend hours make me wanna scream. On Saturdays they close at 3pm and on Sundays they close at 1pm. What if I want to play basketball with my buddies at 5pm on the weekend? what if we want to get our errands and family stuff done and end our days with a nice work out? On top of that they are basically always closed on holidays. I've also heard they will be completely closed on Sundays soon, which is something they had in place not that long ago and have just recently fixed. The reason I was told(not by an employee so this is hearsay) is that they are having staffing issues, I'm sorry as a business you need to figure that out not inconvenience your customers. It is beyond irritating to wake up on Sunday and realize that if you want to work out it will have to be within a 4 hour window from 9am to 1pm. It's the weekend! it is the best time to have open hours so people can utilize their memberships. Which by the way are EXPENSIVE. it's 45 dollars a month for individuals. that's nearly 5 times the price of your generic gyms and I think it's worth the 45 dollars, but not if I can't utilize the memberships conveniently. If you fixed the hours this place was open I'd give it a 3.5 maybe 4.5, but I have been frustrated so many times by having to work late and not making it to the gym before it closed or wanting to make plans to meet friends there but it's closed. I wanted to go today, but they are closed because of the holiday. I'm going to end up purchasing a second gym membership(elsewhere) to cover the hours the YMCA isn't open. That being said the building is beautiful, the staff is mostly nice, they have a variety of cool classes and amenities to take advantage of.... if you show up when they are open.

I very much and not happy with them. I was going to play ball with friends in 15 and they had a very big attitude saying “no u can leave your not 18” they could have atleast worded it better. He had an attitude the second I walked in. If you guys want us to be happy going there be more happy and not grumpy get more sleep u miserable ppl. I give it a 0/10

I love the Glenwood YMCA! Each time I try a new class I am welcomed and given extra directions as a newcomer. Currently I’m frequenting and loving water tabata class. The front desk is helpful and friendly from helping me find an item I left at the gym a few days before to getting my girls their wristbands to swim in the deep end. There was an instructor with patience like a saint who helped my daughter learn how to use the exercise machines in the basement. Overall I’m so grateful this is my main YMCA! I love visiting other ones while traveling but this one is pretty fabulous.

You can apply for paycheck based membership
No one really wants to work weekends for one but also, you'd think like most businesses, they would try to be as efficient as possible with their resources and make the hours they are open accordingly.
They do have a child care. It is an hour if they are not too busy you can take up to 1 and 1/2 hour... they are awesome with kids.
