Best place to enjoy a relaxing day along the Potomac if you're in the sterling area. Also has a boat launch (no rental though as far as I'm aware), nice picnic pavilions, and a variety of nature trails.

It's an amazing park for many things. But for me, I enjoy taking sunrise and sunset photos with my drone at the park. I feel so lucky and thankful that I live near the park.

You can find us at: https://www.facebook.com/AlgonkianPark We closed the gates to the waterpark because the we were not able to open the waterpark this past summer due to COVID. We have many options for wildlife viewing throughout the park. We have several benches on which your mother could sit. Good morning Rashmi. Since the start of the pandemic, Algonkian Regional Park definitely has more visitors, especially on the weekend. Luckily we have plenty of space for social distancing. However, we recommend arriving early in the day to avoid the weekend crowds.

There is not very much deep water in this section of the upper Potomac River. This area is known more for smallmouth bass.
