The clerk at the Amtrak station was extremely helpful in changing my ticket in the most efficient manner possible.

Bad experience traveling through this station. Very hot day had to wait for a late train inside the building (mostly windows) with very little AC. No security and who I thought was a homeless man continually badgered my sister and I. That man was actually the janitor and when I asked the employees behind the counter if there was security he followed us and began shouting at us. That man’s name is Steve and should not be working in a public setting as he seems to be unstable and erratic

I witnessed a young lady being verbally assaulted and threatened by an employee who was the janitor after she refused his advances. Station is not safe, don’t recommend for anyone traveling solo especially at night. There is bad reception as well

The Amtrak trains load and unload travelers quickly. The waiting area is clean with many amenities to make your trip pleasant. The voice system used on the intercom to announce departures could be updated. It sounds outdated and mispronounces things often.

Yes. You can take Amtrak or MARC. MARC runs about one every half hour or so during the week. Amtrak is nicer but runs less often.
Well, to Penn Station. You can take the Light Rail to the Inner Harbor. You will be at the Convention Center and have to walk several blocks over. If your in the BWI District area may as well take an Uber/Lyft.....
Take a Amtrak/MARC shuttle from the airport terminal to the BWI airport train station then catch a MARC commuter train or Amtrak to downtown Baltimore.
It depend on where you go to Odenton or from Odenton to where, ticket cost vary at different time.
At 1 PM ticket agents (people) are working. Traveling southbound you will have to go up and over the train tracks to get to the station. Stairway or elevators to the skyway. Also if going on to Wash DC buy a ticket on MARC train not Amtrak. MARC is less expensive.
Trains run about every half hour. The MARC line schedule is here (https://www.mta.maryland.gov/schedule/timetable/Marc-Penn) and should cost around $7-10. Amtrak runs less frequently but has bigger seats, should cost about twice that $14-20ish Ride lasts anywhere from 30mins to an hour depending on which train and how many stops. Not a bad ride.
There's 2 garages at the train station. Might have to park up top but there will be parking.
The MARC train is the Penn Line. If you are coming into BWI you have choices. 1. Catch the MARC train to New Carrollton and catch Bus Bay H and catch Bus F6 Fort Totten Ride to Belcrest Rd & PG Plaza (you will need cash & change) Go to New Carrollton Station and catch a Lyft/Uber or Cab this option is alot easier and they can take you to your exact location in Hyattsville, MD
No, you take marc from BWI to Union Station and you can get on the metro from there.
Yes, there is a free bus that goes to and from the airport
Yes 9$ per day there's 2 parking structures at the station 🚉
From Brooklyn you should just take the city bus to Penn Station, which is in downtown Baltimore. You can easily get an Amtrak train to Philadelphia from there.
You have to take the shuttle bus over to the airport to get a rental car.
It makes stops along the way but as long as you make New York your final destination, you will be fine
If you're going to NY from BWI rail, your car will be able to pull up right outside the station. It's maybe a 30 yard walk to track one which is the northbound track.
Yes. The garage is $9 a day... Very easy access to the station.
No, but a short (free) bus ride away will take you to the car rental pavilion
Yes, there is parking at the BWI Amtrak station. It is garage parking and you have to pay. If your going to be parking there regularly, then you can get a monthly parking pass.
Not directly. You would have to take MARC to Union Station, transfer to the Brunswick line to go back North. Make sure you read the Brunswick line schedule as it stops running early and does not run on the weekends.
Not sure about a grand reopening of the new building. BWI/Amtrak trains are/have been operating normal schedules at the location despite construction. A temporary building has also been available throughout the construction. You should have no challenges with trains operating at the location during normally scheduled hours.
The regular fare is 6.00. Be sure to buy the ticket from one of the vending machines next to the garages or at the temporary station. There is a 5.00 surcharge (cash only and no bills larger than a twenty) if you wait to buy from the conductor on the train.
Yes
Amtrak yes. MARC limited, but also yes
There is no luggage check, but there is typically room to put your bags in the overhead if you're taking Amtrak. Full size suitcases.
The construction is expected to last through October 2019. Hopefully it won't take longer.
Between the two garages I have yet to run into a day when there are no spaces. You should be ok, but you may have to go high up in the garage.
Yes, that's healthy. I used to park the car in the garage
NoDa station is not complete but they have a big trailer
There also is the option of getting a cab at the station. Short ride, but not free like the shuttle bus shuffle. Saves anywhere from 20 to 45 minutes depending on wait times at the station and airport.
The spaces on the lower floors will be filled by 11:30. But the upper floors will still have openings
I work at BWI Amtrak station. Yes a free shuttle bus runs every 10min to the Airport and drops you to the airlines you are flying. The shuttle bus picks you up at the Amtrak station..
The temporary station is staffed from approximately 5:45 am until late evening.
Parking in the two decks at the station is $1 an hour, with a $9 daily maximum. Plenty of spaces. Commuters can get a special deal if that is of interest.
Technically the train station is in Linthicum MD along with the airport. They are about a mile apart. Free shuttle runs about every 15 minutes from the train station to the airport.
Yes. This station has MARC trains going to Washington. You can fit luggage in the trains, but if you're using the MARC during commuting times, the trains can be crowded.
Short 3-5m BWI/AMTRAK shuttle ride. Check Amtrak schedule for Roanoke destination with Amtrak from Bwi. Amtrak is a comfortable ride. When you arrive at BWI just look for BWI AMTRAK/MARC shuttle stops outside baggage claim. They come a bbn out every 10 minutes
Currently maximum of about $9/ day
Best way is to take the Amtrak ftom BWI train station to Union station in DC .good luck
There is a free shuttle from the airport to the BWI Amtrak/ Marc station. From there, take a train to Union Station in DC and go on to the adjacent metro station within the same building.
Rail station is not on airport property. Take 1st exit off 195 past BW Parkway (says rental car return). At 2nd light turn right (Amtrak Way). Street ends at station and parking garages - they are immediately adjacent to each other.
Free...as long as you get on the BWI shuttle outside the station alongside the parking structure.
Yes
1. Take the MARC train southbound to DC Union Station. $5 2. Switch to the DC Metro and take the Red line towards Shady Grove. * 3. Switch to the Silver line at Metro Center station (3 stops) towards Wiehle-Reston East. * **Metro costs vary by time. Be sure to buy a metro card. Single fare tickets will be more expensive. Especially if you intend to ride DC Metro again. Not a short ride, but you'll get there.
Cash or charge
Yes
As you approach the station, there's a parking garage. You can also use the rewards parking location like the parking spot or fast park. They will drop you off and pick you up. You can park free at the Halethorpe Commuter Station that is one stop from BWI station. The round trip ticket on the MARC train will be way less than your parking fees.
Yup
