Stop the stupid comments about the American flag! This whole incident was about a flag stuck disrespectfully in a flower pot. Most of the homes in SWEETWATER fly flags every day but they do it properly and honor the flag. Before you believe the negative comments get the proper information.

Driver in a white pickup truck with Sweetwater on the side comes to the front of the line at Phillips highway and Baymeadows Road in cuts in front of everybody. Gets upset with me cuz I didn't let him in. Very aggressive driver. Hopefully you guys can take care of that especially since your name is on the side of the truck.

Are you now allowed to fly an American flag on your property here?

Questions & Answers

Why the heck would people think you can’t fly the American flag in Sweetwater? There are several on my street. From the neighbors I know, 2 are retired Marines, a retired cop and a few retired Navy.

Tell that to the homeowner that had to pay over $12,000 to clear the liens just to sell his condo due to the flag flying

If a retired Air Force 'vet' cannot fly a small American Flag outside of his home in the Del Webb 'Sweetwater' community then it is quite obvious that the Home Owner's Assn. has been taken over by liberals and they are now in control of the asylum.

I agree with you. Who are these people who deny a veteran to be able to fly a flag and it was only a small flag in the flower pot. These HOA’s are run by fellow homeowners that apparently have no idea what the flag stands for. Shame on them!

Has any one read the HOA covenants? Should be studied before moving in any community.

True as unlike open communities there are rules you must abide.

Looking to buy next year. If there are so many owners stating they have flags as well as many neighbors, what is the issue? Do they allow American Glags or not?

Hi, my name is Donna Nelson, I am a home owner and a Realtor. Just so everyone knows, we all have a right to install a flag holder or even a flag post and fly our Beautiful American Flag, I am very patriotic. The deal with Larry Murphy is that he lived in a Condo, and yes our American Flag was can and always is allowed to fly here, but in the condo deed restrictions which he had to have signed before purchasing the home, their was an agreement to not have anything in your personal flower basket. He broke that rule and that is all what the scrapple was about. I would never live in a community wherein I could not proudly display our American Flag. Jacksonville, Fl is a Patroit City. We love our military and they love Jacksonville. Moving to Jacksonville?, let me show you around.

Everyone loves seeing grandkids when they are walking or playing outside. It is a very friendly safe environment. I was worried too before moving here in 2018. They are a joy to see. I have grandkids visit and feel very comfortable here.
