Chronic Kissies

Wow I’m in need of a place but from the reviews I’d rather sleep on the street!

They won't let you have pain MED's, so I medicated legally (mmj) and they drug test when you are allowed to leave after 60 days, tested positive so they asked me to leave and they used all my snap benefits which were renewed 3 days prior and made me hit the street with no food benefits. It's not very Christian like to do that. If your sick and need medication, don't go there. I spent 90 days there and have seen a lot of non Christians calling themselves Christian.

Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.

Questions & Answers

What is needed in order to get into the program? For example no criminal records or a certain amount of money? Can a mother with four kids enter? Do they speak spanish there and do the kids have to be a certain age?

Noemi Soto | Oct 2, 2019
Phoenix Rescue Mission | Transforming Lives Center | Oct 2, 2019

Hi Noemi, getting in to the program starts with a phone call. You can call the Changing Lives Center for Women and Children at (602) 688 - 6219. They will be happy to answer your questions - and they can answer in Spanish.

Yes, gently used clothes are very helpful! They can be delivered to our Donation Warehouse.

Hello. I am looking at your facility as my go-to donation but am a bit uncomfortable with only 75% of my donation going to the actual cause. Is there a way I can donate directly and have 100% of my donation go to the cause?

Harold Allred | Oct 1, 2021
Phoenix Rescue Mission | Transforming Lives Center | Oct 1, 2021

Hello! That is understandable. If you specify a program that you want to donate to, it will be used by that particular program. But it is also helpful to know that the 75% threshold is actually pretty good in our nonprofit line of work. The other 25% is not being wasted. It funds the supportive services that make the programs possible such as our CEO who gives direction to the organization, finance management to keep us compliant and legal, human resources for hiring and caring for our employees, and also fundraising because we are a nonprofit that operates almost entirely from donations from our community. We've worked hard to obtain high-level certifications from GuideStar, Excellence in Giving, BBB, and Charity Navigator to show that we are above board with our finances and in a good position to make an impact. And, of course, we are always looking for ways to optimize our work and put even higher percentages directly to program costs. Hopefully that helps answer your question!

Actually no. The CLC program differs from the CSC in that each client is evaluated for advancement in the Transformation Program on campus. There's not a portion of program like "Solutions" at the CLC, BUT there's pleanty to be gained in finding hope and discovering what the guidance of God's will is in one's life!

Tammie Sillers | Oct 2, 2018
Brando L | Oct 2, 2018

Yep. After 60days of "Foundations" you can enter Solutions- OR- you can test yourself & learn even more by completing 7 months & enter the "Job Attainment+ New Start" program. Both options offer extensive help in resume building and money management. Good Luck and God Bless.

We no longer have emergency shelter. We do offer a 60 day minimum residential treatment program with the option to go to work after the 60 day period.

What kind of programs do they offer? What's the length of all programs, I am blind from my left eye, I am 58 I have a Texas ID it's that ok

Phoenix Rescue mission is a Christian- based program that offers Life-Transforming solutions to thise facing, hunger, homelessness, or addiction. Base required time is 60 days for "Foundations" which, upon completion, allows an individual to choose to stay for a full year (total time) of 5 months of "Inner-Healing & "Discipleship" that leads to either a leadership phase ("Servant Leadership Training") or residential works phase ("New Start") of 5 months to wrap it all up. Or after that initial 60 days, there's another residential phase ("Solutions") where one is afforded time and lessons to build a resumé, find work, and pay very little to stay on campus for up to 5 months ( I believe). There's drug testing and counseling throughout the entire time of one's stay. Any valid state I.D. will suffice. Good luck and God bless. P.s. Rhe only cost is time, honest effort, and your willingness to want change and hope in your life.

How many programs do you offer for men, I would like to join one

Yes- the location on 15th Ave. & Van Buren is the women's shelter. It's called the "Changing Lives Center" or C.L.C. I'm unsure of your exact circumstances, and know there are a few "requirements", so please call ahead to be sure there's room. I wish you well- Good luck and God bless!

No. There's not a campus of P.R.M. that offers emergency family shelter, unfortunately, and even nightly "Emergency Shelter" has been discontinued. Good Luck & God Bless.

There's a "Solutions" catagiry of program that will allow you to live in a supportive environment while living on campus and paying a small amount of rent- BUT the 60 day "Foundations" program may be a pre-req. Please call the CSC-Men's campus on S. 35th for more accurate info. Good Luck & God Bless

I have a job but I need a place to stay temporarily till I can get a apartment. If this where I can get a little bit of help in the mean time.

Almost. There's a waiting period of 4-7 days before "placement" at 35th &Cocoapa PRM. Best bet. Talk to someone personally- just give them a call and state your case.

P.R.M. is not authorised to confirm or deny whether or not an individual is "in program" or on property. Law and identity protection; BUT if you are family I'd encourage you to request to speak with the program director. Men's campus is at 35thAve & Cocopa, while the Women's campus is 15th Ave & Van Buren. Good luck and God Bless.
