Beautiful place to take pics by the water. But needs more toys for kids to play on. Children seem to get bored easier then some of the other parks. This park is more for the grownups.

I do not know the correct answer for the question. You can call Onslow Parks and Recreation Office and ask. If it is a party, you may also be able to reserve the covered shelter that is there.
For your protection and your pup's fate, it's a law, your fur baby is safer on a leash. Although dogs are allowed at this Park, mainly due to the neighborhood, the better part for you and canine would be Northeast Creek or Onslow Pines Park. They're larger with now room for play. Good luck and enjoy the park.
Sunset is nice. Have not been there at sunrise so I don't know.
Fishing is not good. Shallow bay, but occassionally holds a few flounder and drum.

No swimming, no crabbing. The water is brackish anyway and the bottom is super mucky.

Wilson Bay is what's called "brackish" water. Fresher after a rain event and saltier with no rain. The actual salinity of Wilson Bay runs from 4 ppt to as high as 25 ppt. I worked water quality 15 years in that river, I know what I am talking about.
