One of the best parks in Jacksonville. In Summertime my children LOVE the splash pad! Even when the splash pad is closed, the playground is well equipped with swings, climbing structures, and a merry-go-round.

I haven't seen the gates shut either but I believe parks are open dawn to dusk.
They just lay bark every now and again. The boardwalks are both still in dire need of repair. Other than that, the trails there are all still in wonderful walking condition, and one of the boardwalks is still open. I and quite a few others enjoy walking our dogs through there, daily. Enjoy.
Nope...they are supposedly adding stuff in the big open field in the center where the swamp used to be, but...it's been years now since they cleared it

Yes. It is right outside base. If you go on the road next to Jimmie Jonh's Sandwich shop and follow it down, you will see the park sign once you pass the gas station. You can go left to go to the park side and turn right to go to the sports fields, disc golf course, and lake
Pets are allowed while on leashes; only service animals are allowed during sporting events at the baseball fields
