The Lexington side of the Lake Murray dam was an excellent place to view fireworks. You can park at the state park or temporarily along the highway but you must remain behind the white line. Law enforcement was very active and professional. Get there early, bring a chair or blanket, find a spot through the trees. This image was created with a 400 mm, f11, ISO 1000, 2.5 sec exposure. The multi-colored lights, at the bottom of the frame, come from 25 boats viewing the fireworks up close. We selected this spot to avoid traffic and leave quickly once done.

Absolutely beautiful public beach! $5 parking fee but it lasts all day! Easy parking to beach walk, love seeing all different races here together! Met a new friend from Puebla, Mexico and gave us some tips about SC! Water was refreshing, clean, concrete steps to the water. Bring a towel...don't sit on grass without something under your toosh! Got bit by some crazy little ants...buggers!

$5 admission got you lots of parking. Excellent Beach with calm waters for swimming. Several areas to BBQ with covered park benches and tables.

Nice place to have fun with the family at a lake beach. There are outdoor grills available with a large sandy beach area. There are steps to enter the water over the rocks in other places.

No you don't. Just have to get there early
They are allowed. They have to remain on a leash at all times. The website says this: "Amenities: Boat Launch, Picnic Facilities, Fishing Docks, Restrooms Prohibited: Alcoholic Beverages, Pets must be on a leash"
If it is very cozy to be a birthday boy or other ebentos grilling tables and a formidable friend
No, there isn't.
It is open today, but no you can't go there if it is closed and cook out.
I expect they are but Probably extremely crowded. They were only letting 100 cars in last week.
Used to be. Think they are still allowed for good dog owners. 😉
Don't know. COVID has altered their usual operations. They've always been a little weird with opening, hours, and admission fees.
Supposedly it opened on memorial day. Perhaps weekends only for now. The Irmo side had a few picnic areas open but no swimming areas.
I believe they open on Memorial day.
The picnic area on the Lexington side is not open. I think they open that area near the end of May. There is an area on the Irmo side for picnics and boat launch but no swimming.
