Current and prospective tenants beware! Lived here for three years. Had zero issues when it was St Croix Apartments. Started having issues once it changed to Portola West. Thankfully, my husband and I were in the process of moving out, due to buying a house, once the change happened. We always paid rent on time and gave proper notice when we left in Feb. I’ve worked in property mgmt for several years, so I know the drill. As of today, we started receiving a notice from a debt collector that we owe over $2k. Not sure why when once again we paid our rent on time every month. I find it strange that we were never contacted by the complex that we had a balance and now several months later we apparently owe money. Seems shady since there is no explanation for the charge owed. We will be disputing but want to make other renters aware.

St Croix apartments 2020. My spouse and I started getting congested and clogged and nasally it took a while but we finally determined the problem was in the master bedroom closet top right corner filled with mold not much at that point but enough to get us sick... Bad mold problem within one month. turned black.. sent a rinky dink company over just to paint over it didn't even use Kilnz paint !...two weeks after and one rain got even worse- hole family's sick including cat ! one month after they cut a hole they leave hole in master closet exposed for 2 weeks again family gets sick! one week after sent us eviction notice one year later since collections agency telling us we owe $2,000 lolol and then the following year recently July 2022 they try to bring down the price from $2,000 to $1600 LOL finally find out that Saint Croix no longer is that Corporation and sold to Portola. Probably the same company just covering up with a new name. Pictures attached.

My roommate and I had an appointment scheduled to tour an apartment here. Drove 30 minutes all the way across town to be there. When we arrived, the office was closed saying no one would be back for an hour. We called and no one answered. When we knocked on the door a man came to the door and said he would check with the office manager. He came back and said she was busy right now and unable to honor our appointment to give us a tour. Don’t waste your time trying to tour this place!
