Some of the campsites are very narrow and hard to get in with your camper. They did not keep toilets stocked with TP! (Even after I made it known to them.) So if you sat down before checking to make sure there was tp and it was empty, oh boy, you're in a dilemma. Not cool! The one shower house had NO hot water. My son tried 2 different showers but neither had hot water. And you have to pay for them so he was out that money. At the other shower house, one of the showers was out of commission. Sometimes you had to wait awhile before a shower was available. Trash receptacles were few and far between. Definitely some things they could improve on!

Absolutely fabulous location. Gorgeous lake, and pretty wooded sites. My husband grew up in Yosemite so the Midwest never meets his expectations, but he loves this campground! 4 stars because the showers with hot water require quarters which isn't the end of the world but the staff really should mention that at check in. Water hook ups would also be nice, but again not a deal breaker. Overall, beautiful campground and we will be back!

We stayed there this Memorial Day weekend. The bathrooms and showers were dirty. Fire pit not cleaned out and the park still needed some spring cleaning. There isn’t any place to put your trash close by. The quality of the park has gone down in the last 2 years

The campsite we had was decent size and was nice that it was by the water, but I'm giving them a 3 star because of a few different things. 1 was the prices on the website and on the sign in their office area was not accurate. Another being that there is no water hook-up (which would be okay since they have shower houses, but they charge you 50 cents for 5 minutes according to their site.) Lastly when at the dump station, there was no water hose hooked up to clean out your dump hose.

We had our 18 foot boat at the campsite last summer
You cannot fish at the campground but I'm sure there is finishing nearby, there were plenty of boat launches and lots of fresh water. So as long as you have your fishing license and you aren't on private property you should be good.
April 12th is when our reservation will accept 2022 reservations. Hope to see you then!
30 for rustic and i think 35 for electric. Make sure to check with them first that the prices didnt change!
You cannot live at the campground year round although I'm sore it would be beautiful! There are locals that live there year round in nearby cabins or homes, many are for sale, some are for rent.
Yes..there are two buildings, one with separate male/ female showers and a newer bathroom)bathhouse that have, single showers in the back. They are kept very clean, as well as the outhouses.
Kings orchard and Shooks farm are about 3 miles from the park. Depending on weather, early July for sweets and late July for tarts
Yes you can
There are both 30 and 50 amp hookups - I believe each site has both. No water/sewage at sites. There is a dump station in the campground.
Been going here for over 30 years and it's getting busier every year. I would call ahead, talk to Ilene and find out..have fun. Beautiful park!
No you can't at the park, but Central Lake which is about 7 miles down 88 has a place where you can.
But this campground is LITERALLY on lake michigan.
Yes there is RV and tent sites here aome are rustic and are a little bit cheaper but most have power hook up
There is a water and sewage station
$31/night with full hook up. There about 7 sites with no electric that are slightly cheaper. Also smaller.
Yes. Full hook up with large sites, most have some vegetation between each other.
Yes. Dogs are allowed in the campground. They must be on leash and are not allowed on the campground beach.
Yes. Of course they must be on leash and they are not allowed on the beach. There is another bay approximately 3 miles south of the campground where pets are allowed on the beach.
Yes, tents are welcome. Campground has large sites with plenty of shade, and woods in between many sites. Walk in tenting also available. More ask: how close to facilities do they want to be?
Honcho Rest I believe does in Elk Rapids, private Camp grd
