This place is so beautiful! The sunset is spectacular and it is super clean! Individual showers too. Small beach area but you can walk for miles along the beach. Amazing getaway from the city life.

Clean sites. Large shower houses and bathrooms which are kept clean daily. There is no admission fee or Gatehouse to the State Park. There is no camp store for the campground. The beach is nice as are the stairs to the very small campground beach. There is a small viewing area for sunsets that is handicap accessible.

Loved it! Secluded and clean. We were there on a Saturday, still avoided the crowd. My dog loved it too..

My first time here. The Beach campground is nice and wooded. Most sites are fairly large. All are close to the beach.

The whole campground is shaded. The tree line ends at the top of sand dunes overlooking lake Michigan. From my campsite i could hear the waves of lake Michigan, but i was in the woods.
No hookup per site but does have water spouts to fill containers that multiple sites to share
I believe you can only reseve online or in person. It's an extra $8 to reserve online but it's so worth it this campground is very popular. I found these 2 numbers it's worth a try 231-744-3480 800-447-2757
Yes they have 50amp but you'd need to check the reservation website for availability and pricing. All sites are dirt/grass. It's a really lovely campground with a really lovely beach and hiking trails across the road. The bathrooms are great too.
Not very good in the Summer - Ice fishing can be quite good in the Winter along with Steelhead in the Spring. You will catch an occasional Smallmouth Bass along the channel, otherwise you need a boat to venture into the deeper, colder waters of Lake Michigan. This is been my experience - you may do better.
Yeah there is showers and bathrooms
Opposite side of town
It is 3 but a lot of people leave their sites early
Thanks! My family and I used to camp here every year when I was a child. This past weekend my sisters and I camped here again for the first time in about 25 years. One of them says the stairs were not there when we used to come, but I clearly remember a set of stairs being there. Although, the design/construction was different at that time. So we are trying to settle a sibling dispute here and have not be able to locate any information or history on this.
It is but the dogs must be on leashes at all times and if they bark at night you could be fined.
Always make reservations in advance if that's the worry but they're spaced out and have a capacity so it doesn't get crazy
