Do NOT use this agency. They do not care to help you. We have had nothing but issues with them and when trying to get resolution, their answer is that it's not their fault and the customer is always wrong. Among the many different issues I've had, my favorite parts are their VP telling me that how I feel is "wrong", it is not uncommon for them to have to wait 8+ hours to speak to someone at Royal Caribbean (then why would you ever recommend that line?), and my ultimate favorite that I need to contact the cruise line to get my issue resolved even though I already told them that the cruise line wont talk to me because I "have" a travel agent (so basically, I get to call Royal Caribbean so that they can tell me to have my travel agent call who will then tell me to contact them myself so that I can go through this cycle endlessly. There are countless choices available to you, don't make the same mistake my family did!

Our travel agent basically only booked our cruise and that was the extent of it and even that was wrong because of DOB given to the cruiseline. No recommendations on anything. No contact before cruise was coming up and making sure we had tests or vaccines. I guess we are just use to an agent who cares and gives us what they know. I could have just booked the cruise online and would have had i known it would have been like it was. Our cruise was amazing and that is the main goal but I wont use Columbus travel again.

Questions & Answers

do I need a passport to go on a cruise to Caribbean

Julie Hansen | Feb 2, 2022
Columbus Travel | Feb 2, 2022

Technically no if the cruise departs from a US port. However it is highly recommended. Just a few weeks ago a customer had a accident and was unable to get back on the ship. You can only fly back to the US with a passport. It took them about 10 days to expedite a passport so they could come home.

Should I staple my vaccination to my pass port

It is not recommended to staple things to your passport. You could use a paper clip instead. Also if your vaccination card is hand written you should try and get an official copy of your states vaccination record. Most states have a way to get this record online.

My husband and I have booked a trip to Maui the end of November and we're trying too figure out how we get the necessary papers and tests so they won't send us back home.

You will need a covid-19 test. Hawaii has teamed up with Wallgreens as an authorized provider. You can schedule an appointment on their website. In our expirience you will need to schedule it at midnight 3 days prior to the day you need to take the test. We also recomend going to the site a few days before and go through the process so you know what the expect. You can find additional information and forms here https://www.hawaiitourismauthority.org/covid-19-updates/traveling-to-hawaii/ You can also call your agent at our office. We have walked several customers through the process. 801-295-9568.

Do we have to plan our own Alaska trip to be able to keep the Sabbath Day Holy? If yes can you offer any assistance? We want to travel in the July/August timeframe?

Our agents can help you plan an Alaska cruise. Right now we don't have any groups planned for this year. It is best to depart on Saturday then you next day will be at sea. You can find quite places on the ship or relax in your cabin. If you have a small group we can also posdibly arrange a room where you can meet. There may be a minimum number required to make this arrangement.

Could you please have Larry Gelwix tell us how to take a cruise to Alaska that will permit us to keep the Sabbath Day Holy? He knows how important the Sabbath is and we really want to go with our 9 married kids. HELP!!!

You have been working with Elaine in our office, she can help with the reservations. Regarding your question the best way is to choose a cruise that departs on Saturday. That way you will have the next day (Sunday) at sea. Days at sea are relaxing and you can choose to be as active or relaxed without missing anything.

Columbus offers many guided tours all over the world. As far as single occupancy, I can only suggest calling them directly.
