Great produce, way to much sweets, and the frozen meats are discusting, re frozen meats should never happen, can cause severe illness. Had to throw away so much of my "month" supply due to lack of knowledge or care that these meats are contaminated. Glad I get 15$ in food stamps so I can get meat at least....

Ms. Betty, all you do is go there & they will ask you about your income, family size, bills etc... They take your word. Nobody is denied. God bless!
I imagine that it's not a problem to sign up w Sopo pantry. Call them to make sure you are eligible. Otherwise..., they have some meat, depending upon contributions. Hannaford supplies meat, poultry, eggs, boxed shelf stable milk, cereal, juices. Scratch bakery etc, supply healthy baked goods.... rustic breads tooo.... yum! Sometimes they get lunch meat, prepared dinner items. They work so hard to provide healthy, nutritious food... I think the world of them... the volunteers are amazing and personable. Please contact the pantry.... 😋

Hi Jill, sorry about your situation.😳 The pantry is only open on Thursday morning... there is no prepared Hot fiod, as the soup kitchens have. I also believe that you have to provide an address to sign up with them. I don't know where you are located, but there are some weekend soup kitchens in Portland... I am sorry that I can't tell you where they are. If you go to the salvation army on Cumberland Ave in Portland... perhaps they can give you food and info regarding soup kitchens... be safe, be strong and better things will come... 😇
