Been here for 2 years now. Rent is very reasonable. Management does a pretty job at keeping the property maintained and cleaned. There is never any trash or litter on or around the premises of the property, so that's a plus for me. Staff is professional and responsive. There was a mice issue, but management responded in a timely manner and came with professional crew to observe and help in preventing mice invasions. I'm very relieved and happy to say the MICE ARE GONE. Regardless of any arising issue, which there has NOT been many since I've been here, I can truly say management will take care of it , and as long as you do your part in working with management and communicating with management as well, issues will be resolved. Needless to say, but you MUST keep your living quarters clean! Unfortunately, some do not, but if you do, then there will be no rodent/insect issues for you. Neighborhood is pretty nice for the most part. I feel safe with the police and fire station near the complex and surrounding neighborhood. I also love the fact I can stroll down the Delmar Loop and have some good food and fun anytime! Not perfect, but it's nice, manageable, and a good livable place to stay until you find your perfect dream home. Best wishes!

I keep seeing bad reviews about my community. I've lived here for 5 years. I absolutely love my apartment and have never seen a mouse nor roach. I have however seen many nasty people who don't value nor appreciate what they have. Its horrible how some people live and blame there issues on management. But back to my review, University Commons Apartments is awesome and the staff is GREAT, the managers Ms. Monikki and Ms. Jackie are very understanding and try their best to work with you. They've even taken time away from their desk to handle a few service request in my home when maintenance wasn't available. So 5 stars for me.

The day that I applied they offer me an apartment, and tell me to give them $100 deposit. Once I gave them the deposit they call me back like a week or two later & told me basically I wasn’t approve anymore, long story short it’s been over a month and I still haven’t got my deposit back.

Unprofessional management and many maintenance issues. Leasing manager Monikki has been taken to court in the past for her past due rent owed to housing authority per case net website because she lives on the premises and doesn’t pay her own rent. Interesting considering she’s so threatening in collecting rent from residents, but fails to fix anything. Let’s not forget there are rodents on the premises as well.

Are the apartments for low income seniors
I'm sure there's a credit check for everything these days especially getting an apartment but I think these apartment are a little lenient as long as you have a reliable job and can afford the rent I don't think they will turn you down. Hope this helps.
NO
Please don’t waste your time and energy on applying to live here. I wish I would’ve listened to the bad reviews before moving here.
Electric and gas are paid by the person renting and are not included with the cost of rent.
Yes there are mice in the townhomes and apartment here unfortunately and still an ongoing issue
I'm not
It shouldn't be that way because it's so unprofessional but call around 10a and when they don't answer call RIGHT back, no more leaving messages. The best Manager to speak with is Moniquee Williams(no i didn't double tap the e, its pronounced that way I was told 🤷♀️) Good Luck!!
