Date of Last Visit: August 26th, 2022. Date of First Visit: July, 2020 Unfortunately, I feel compelled to share my negative experience at this vet. I find it important to note that the vet tech staff is incredible. They are friendly, professional, and timely. During my last visit, I brought my male fixed cat in to update his vaccinations. I got to my appointment on time at around 9am. We were taken back to the exam room, I removed him from his carrier and, although a bit nervous, he was fine. Once the vet entered the exam room, there were very little pleasantries exchanged before he grabbed my cat by the scruff and pushed him into the table (to get leverage to give the vaccinations). However, when my cat reacted poorly to this, instead of releasing him and taking a moment to readjust, the vet picked my cat up off the table by his scruff, leading to the vet receiving a scratch and dropping my cat back onto the table. The vet then proceeded to say "That's enough of YOUR cat for the day." and slammed the exam room door on his way out. I was then informed that my cat would need to be sedated for all future vet visits with Gabapentin. After this issue, my cat acted fine. He allowed me to pick him up and place him back in the carrier. He was in no way acting angry or feral. I firmly believe that the inappropriate conduct by the vet alone is what led to his reaction. Since this experience, I have taken both of my cats to a new vet. Neither needed to be sedated, both were treated well by the vet and no issues arose. I understand that it is likely that the particular vet in this case was having a bad day. However, it is still completely inappropriate and unprofessional to slam the exam room door on a client. I sincerely hope that no one else experiences this again at this clinic.
