Flathead. Electric Coop really cares about how outages affect the members. The employees always strive to restore service as quickly as possible. No matter what the cause.

We are delighted with Flathead Co-Op. They have wisely invested in technology to keep their customers up to date on the web during an outage. We know where the outage is and crews have been dispatched. Their text SMS service is right on time for outage restorations. We have lived in other states where they jack their rates up but have no technology to check out the status unless you call and wait. We could be productive doing others things knowing the FE Co-Op is on the job.

During 1st 90°+ weather of the summer a large power outage was last thing I hoped for! However, Flathead Elect offers option to receive updates via cellphone text. I've used it b4. It's great to get progress updates especially on such a hot evening. Their crews are awesome to get to source of outage assess, repair pretty darn fast! And keep customers updated!! Thx!

Flathead Electric is awesome, and now you can always know what is going on. They are very transparent.

Yes! Our Budget Billing program is a billing option that helps stabilize your monthly electric bills. Leveling bill amounts out throughout the year helps our members with budgeting and keeps them from being caught off guard when higher energy usage leads to a higher bill than they expected. You can learn more or request to enroll at https://www.flatheadelectric.com/account/budget-billing/.
Call us at (406) 751-4483 and we would be happy to help!
Why do squatters have the right to have the power left on when they don't pay anything.
Yes! They have a machine that you can enter your account number and pay by card or cash
Thank you for the question, David. There are many factors to consider when establishing rates. One of the fundamental principles is fairness -- generally the goal is to have the cost causers be the cost payers. Flathead Electric Cooperative's power supplier, The Bonneville Power Association, bills the Co-op such that the peak demand that we place on their system is one of the largest components of our bill, and that is directly tied to the peak demand (in kW) that each of our members contribute towards that overall system peak. Tying our charges to the demand charge (kW) rather than the energy charge (kWh) more fairly accounts for the system capacity requirements needed by each member.
Make an appointment with Flathead Electric engineering and higher an electrician.
Check out their outage viewer on their website. It works quite nicely.
Flathead Electric tree maintenance crews periodically have wood chips available for delivery to members for mulching, landscaping and other purposes. Unlike clean white chips sometimes used in landscaping, these chips contain organic matter such as bark and pine needles. To receive wood chips, members need to have dump truck access (cleared of snow and with solid ground underneath) and have no overhead power lines that might conflict with raising a dump truck. The minimum delivery size is one load (approximately 15 cubic yards). To minimize haul costs and time, crews will deliver chips, as they become available, to areas nearest their current job site. To be added to Flathead Electric’s “chip list” for a future delivery, call 406-751-5282, or complete the request form at www.flatheadelectric.com/trees.
And if you can go Flexpay. Flexpay has no deposit. Just $50 for your first $50 worth of electricity. And all of this depends on your service.
