Every time I go there I find something I didn’t know I needed. I went in looking for a Halloween costume and walked out with 4 new pair of fashion socks, a leather backpack, a London Fog raincoat, a silverware organizer, a game, and a Captain America toaster. For $50. Trust me when I tell you: get a cart. You’re going to need it!

I’ve been a customer for many years, and I’ve seen this store’s many changes. Some things that haven’t changed is the leaky ceiling that could reflect a bigger issue with the entire complex, who knows? I will add to the complaints about the metal shelves that are better used for storage, not display, as items are stacked, shoved any way possible making it a chore to view anything. And the items on top, out of reach of many customers? Yeah, no thanks. Just another questionable decision by upper management, like those dollar store items from a few years ago that hogged up shelf space and seemed anathema to GW’s former stance of reducing landfill waste. And they sat for ages because they didn’t belong in a GW and people weren’t buying them. I wonder what happened to all of that cheap plastic? Back to Gahanna’s unnecessarily cramped store. They have an area behind the jumbled mess that is the metal shelves where larger items are placed. I rarely get a cart because it’s too frustrating to maneuver. The prices lately have jumped up, sometimes hilariously, and long-time flippers won’t be fooled. Anyone want a half burned candle for $3? On the other hand, you can still get Levi’s for under $5, so there’s that. And sometimes they get closeouts. They’ve had Victoria’s Secret and the Container Store, to name a few. There’s Ikea occasionally, which often requires a committee to figure out what a particular item is, but what I miss most are the Target clearance items. If you know what I’m talking about, you KNOW! Anyone present at the unveiling of the Target items was witness to a rush of thrift store fanatics vying for marked down Bounty paper towels, Charmin toilet tissue, Method cleaners, Hefty trash bags, Ziploc, etc. Just capitalism at work.xx
