I recently adopted poppyseed from there. The staff was so nice. Cute little kitties running all around. I settled on poppyseed cuz she was affectionate and loveable. I wouldn't trade my little miss for anything in the world. She loves to wake me up between 2 and 3am to get petted lol. Other than that, she's a wonderful cat! She found her FURever home❤️❤️

Everyone here was so nice as I took a bit to make up my mind but we settled on two beautiful kitties and they made the process so easy. ❤️

They Rather leave the animals caged up then to see them go to a good loving homes. The intake interview staff are unknowledgeable taking u through the application process not knowing that the committee staff will not let the animal go to certain dwellings. Wasting both there time and yours. But on the flip side as with most shelter's there is a lot of dishonesty an sneaky practice going on behind the scenes. Mostly if you don't own your own home an have plenty of land they are very unwilling to adopt out to none home owners. Really sad situation. Future blessings an prayers 💖 🙏 for the best interest of theses poor defenseless animal 🙏😇❤️

What do I do about someone that has 3 female cats 9 kittens not living in the best healthy condition

Thank you for contacting our Humane Society with your question. If you believe the cats and kittens are being neglected you will need to contact the police in your area for them to begin an investigation to involve our Humane Society, or another animal welfare organization if you are outside the Saranac Lake area. If you know the pet owner please let them know they can call our office for pet placement assistance or if they are having a hard time affording pet food, cat litter and spay/neuter surgeries. We have a special fund to provide pet food, supplies and financial aid to low income pet owners who are looking to have their dogs or cats spayed/neutered at local veterinary hospitals.
