This place should be called Inhumane Society. An outside cat adopted my family and we called the shelter to see if they could help us find a home for it. The employee immediately said “well if you bring it here, we can’t promise we won’t euthanize it.” We end the call. A while later we stopped by to speak to them about adopting a dog. They said we couldn’t meet a single dog “because of COVID.” (No other shelter in the area has this “policy” and they weren’t even wearing masks so COVID who?). They were incredibly rude and mean. One employee stopped what she was doing to stare at us without speaking until I said “Can I help you?” We submitted an application, as this was the only way they said we could meet any dog. The director contacted me that we were approved. I asked if any of their dogs were cat friendly and never heard back. It’s like they don’t want these animals to be adopted!!! I pray that my animals never end up in their hands and I’m so sorry for the ones that do. This place is a shameful use of tax dollars. And these animals and interested adopters deserve better.

Clean. Hours of operation are fine. Staff/volunteers are mostly helpful and nice. Was told by another resident that it IS a kill shelter, but idk is that's accurate. That's the only reason I gave only 2 stars.

The director is very kind

We strive for a 90% live release rate. We are like every other county/city open admission facility in the fact that we sometimes have to euthanize for major medical or severe behavioral issues like aggression that make animals unadoptable.
We do have staff that are certified to euthanize, as we are the county/city open admission facility. We contract with our county/city to receive all animals impounded by animal control officers. We work very hard to place every adoptable animal- and do so with great success. However, we do sometimes have to euthanize for medical or aggression issues that we cannot resolve.
Not right now!
You must see a vet for vaccines. We do offer the state spay/neuter voucher program if you qualify. Come by one Monday to see if you qualify.
Hey Carolyn! They are closed on Wednesdays except by appointment. Next time they open is Thursday.
We do not.
Depends on which vet you choose.
No
If you qualify they do offer $10 vouchers that you can use at local vet office.
You need to call a local vet office for that information.
6-8 weeks usually but ask your vet please
