Great city terrible service! You call and no one pick up the phone! You go there and no one wants to help you! You apply online and no one even bother to respond to you! This should be a wake up call to the people seating in the high chairs! You think I think it will help? I’m sure it won’t!

No, if an inspector wrote a violation they are wrong.
Yes The Rules of the City of New York §101-14 requires that backyard sheds meet the following requirements: Size: Up to 120 square feet – no permits needed. Height: Maximum 7 feet 6 inches. Materials: Sheds made of flammable materials must be at least 3 feet from the property line.
Yes, this requires a demolition permit.
If you are in a zoning district that requires a specific percentage of yard needs to be natural then yes. But this change was made in the last 10 years so if yours doesn't conform you would need to show proof that it was like that prior to the change. https://zr.planning.nyc.gov/article-ii/chapter-3/23-451
Submit a request in the records room
To clarify the answer, you need to file for the plumbing (LAA) and electrical if your moving anything. The flooring and cabinets are finishes and don't require a permit.
Walk in
You practically need a permit to hammer a nail in a wall
Call 311
Hire an architect or a filing representative that can check zoning to see what can be done.
Yes it requires a demolition permit.
Driveway-No Sidewalk-Yes from DOT
Yes, even if it was temporary.
This is not a yes or no answer. The size of the lot and the size of the house and the zoning district it's located in will determine the answer. Contact an architect or filing representative.
There used to be requirements for pool equipment, It doesn't say now. (iii) if accessory to a use listed in Use Group 1 or Use Group 2, which use is a single-family residence or two-family residence, the edge of the pool shall be located not less than five feet from any lot line, except that such minimum distance between the edge of the pool and any side lot line may be not less than three feet in the case of lots less than 25 feet in width, providing that it is screened from adjoining lots by a six foot high continuous solid opaque fence along the side lot line adjacent to such pool. In the event that such pool is located between 50 and five feet from any rear lot line or side lot line, it shall be screened by a continuous fence supplemented with a strip of densely planted trees or shrubs at least four feet high at the time of planting along such rear lot line to such pool; and (iv) illumination of such pools shall be limited to underwater lighting.
Backyard Sheds Storage sheds are permitted in rear yards only. Prefabricated and custom-built sheds are regulated the same way under New York City law. Homeowners may not need to submit work plans to the Department of Buildings or secure work permits to install a backyard shed – unless it will be within three feet of the property line. If so, the work plans must show the shed is built with non-flammable materials and meets size requirements. The Rules of the City of New York §101-14 requires that backyard sheds meet the following requirements: Size: Up to 120 square feet – no permits needed. Above 121 square feet – plans, approval, and permits required Height: Maximum 7 feet 6 inches Materials: Sheds made of flammable materials must be at least 3 feet from the property line. Installation: Sheds may not be permanently affixed to the land
The new foundation for the extention has to go atleast 4 feet below grade and it has to be approved by the NYC Dept of Buildings before construction is done.
First check to see if the rear yard can be used for what you want, then YOU need to file with the owners permission.
There are two types of retaining walls, Necessary and Surplus. If two properties are at different elevations and there is a retaining wall between them it's Necessary AND THEY ARE BOTH RESPONCIBLE. If an adjoining property raises or lowers there elevation that requires a retaining wall then it's a surplus wall and that owner is responsible.
Depends on what type of work is getting done. Plumbing, mechanical, boiler.....
Yes, Yes, Yes. Otherwise, it will cost you thousands of dollars in fines. Also, you need a permit and an engineer's filing to demolish any illigal construction. So, it is easier to do it right from the beginning. .. and thousands of dollars cheaper. Over 20 of my neighbors can attest to that
You need to leave 20% of the surface area unpaved
Yes
