I haven't done that myself, but i have heard of people getting their biometrics done before their appointment date without problems. I believe it may depend on how busy they are on that day.

Bring in a Notarized explaining how when you lost your card and present it to the Officer. Unless, you plan to travel then you would have to file a I-90 Application to replace the card with a fee of $540. After the appointment to appear for processing, you would have to make an Info Pass appointment on line to appear at 26 Federal Plaza for a temp stamp. Replacement card will take 11 months

Yes, you attempt a Walk in but it has to be an emergency case.ex if you are traveling and have flight tickets you can appear two prior to your flight to obtain a temporary stamp in your passport

You can come in early. My wife had an appointment in late afternoon but she went in the morning and they still took her. I have heard of people going earlier than the day their appointment is given and still getting accepted. I believe it depends on how busy they are on the day you go if it's before your schedule appointment.
