We purchased a Victoria & Albert York Traditional Double-Ended Tub With English Cast Base with a custom paint job for $3,730.67. Upon receiving the merchandise, we discovered it was defective. The paint had rubbed off in a couple of places, but the tub came with an unattached pedestal base and when the tub was put on the pedestal, it moved around a lot. We took a video of it and sent it to Quality Bath. They, in turn, sent it to the manufacturer that shipped it to us, House of Rohl, LLC. They determined that the pedestal was warped and sent us another, modified pedestal and touch-up paint that was the wrong color. It still did not fit correctly and we sent photos to show them that it did not fit evenly and moved from side to side. They then said they would replace the entire unit, but have it inspected prior to painting and shipping it. They sent photos of the replacement, but it appeared to us to still not be a good fit. We requested a refund, instead. They say they will give the refund, but we first must turn the tub over and put a hole in the bottom of it and send them photos. I am disabled and my husband, is away on business. I have no way to move or turn the tub over, let alone put some kind of hole in it. The tub and pedestal are defective and cannot be used. We need to purchase another tub to complete our bathroom project. I have explained to them that I am unable to turn the tub over to put a hole in it, as they requested, but they are refusing to give me a refund. And just as a matter of opinion, it would be interesting to take some kind of sample of the actual material of this tub, as it looks and feels like acrylic. A local bathroom showroom has one on their floor, and when we inquired about it, the salesperson on the floor thought it was acrylic! Volcano Limestone or fairy dust? Definitely not worth the cost!
