This place unprofessional and ghetto just like every other place in Philadelphia that's here to so called help people. I filled out a application back in July. I called a 2 weeks later because I hadn't heard anything back. nobody answered the phone so I left a message with my information and reason for calling. Still no response. I then called everyday for one week straight and still nobody hasn't contacted me back about my application status. If there's no funding just call and let people know, don't leave people in the dark. It's very rude and inconsiderate and unprofessional.

Me too. They don't have any funds left for rental assistance. But you can go to Appletree on 1408 Cherry St. It's Phila Dept of Homeless. They give help with shelters, eviction and back rent and Security deposits. But you need an income to make sure. You can on top. And there's another place at 801 Walnut St. 5th floor. That can give you i think 400 to 500 .

Are you a veteran or have any one that has served in the Army, Navy, Marines OR Airforce inside the household you reside in? If YES, someone can walk into the main office (center city office) as a walkin to apply. Is there any children in the household that is active in attending the Philadelphia schooling system? If YES, someone can go into the main office to apply and see IF they are eligible to get assistance. Are you receiving cash assistance from welfare AND in the EARN CENTER PROGRAM? If YES, you can go to the main office to make an appointment IF YOU CANNOT REACH ANYONE over the phone. If NO, to all of those questions, they may have Peco available some time LATE next week. If you can't wait until then you might want to set up a payment plan with the PECO department to get on a low payment plan depending on how much you bill is and how many times you have defaulted before.

Do u have to pay a % of the grant?

Mike Mcgurk | Sep 30, 2019
Monique Alexander | Sep 30, 2019

Mike McGurk you will need a shut off notice or you have to be terminated. Also during this time which is LIHEAP/CRISIS time you must exhaust/utilize them first if you are seeking assistance for PECO or PGW. The grant for PECO AND PGW is up to $1500 If you are a Water customer you can receive assistance if your are 2 billing cycles behind, your bill is $75 dollars or more or you have a shut off notice. The water grant is up to $3000. If your bill is over the 1500 or 3000 you must pay the remaining amount to the utility company directly. You are eligible for a grant every 2 years. We are considered the last resort during LIHEAP/CRISIS season. I approve all applications for our 17 sites and our internal departmental programs at UESF. My number is 215-814-6832 if you need assistance.
