The Oaks Apartments

I've had good experiences with other residents and the office staff. I like and am friends with my neighbors. Maintenance people are friendly and responsive. The apartments in the same building "leak" smells and temperature. Be aware of airborne irritants coming from the adjacent apartments... Keeping the closet doors helps a lot. Shallow containers of coffee grounds or of baking soda will absorb smells. If clothes smell slightly of your neighbors cigarettes, you can layer laundry with baking soda in the hampers. The toilets bubble... they have been updated; but because the plumbing of some buildings have feeds/intersections directly across from each other the jet assisted flushing sends air bubbles (NOT sewer gas!) up toilets. It's weird, but benign. Note: the lower the water in the bowl the higher the splash of bubbles (very counter intuitive) flushing *before* and after you use the toilet will help. The appliances and flooring are good quality 👍🏻. The fridge and stove each had issues in my unit (at different times) and were replaced with attractive & shiny new ones. The location is GREAT! You could walk to Food Lion; 1 and 421 are super convinient; downtown is minutes away; there are parks, a YMCA, a Duke affiliated hospital, a great business district and a campus of Central Carolina Community College all within a 15-20 minute radius. I use a rollator and have a service dog.The threshold to enter the apartment took some practice, the showers are not roll in and cannot be converted & the doorways to the bathroom and closet are barely too small for the wheelbase of my rollator. But none of this is compelling enough for me to move. There is so much going for this community I am just fine with a little inconvenience. If you're looking for a Sanford NC apartment I recommend looking at the Oaks. I very much enjoy living here.

I have not yet moved into the apartment, as I’m still living out of state. But I just wanted to say that my entire experience with Katie has been absolutely incredible. She communicated so quickly and worked with me so pleasantly that I felt comfortable asking questions and was able to provide everything I needed to get everything ready for my move! I am so so appreciative for her help and I cannot wait to move in!

We had a A/C issue during this hot weather period. We called the office and the H-Vac Tech was here in no time. We thank the ladies in the office and a big thanks to Aaron the (Tech) for the fast service. We are once again cool. Thank you!
