I personally am very pleased with the care my family member is getting. Over time my loved one and myself have become very comfortable with Brighton Gardens and the Staff.

In-house PT and OT fabulous, overall quality seemed to suffer given tight labor market (daily trash removal inconsistent, dining experience disorganized), surprised by lack of masking and social distancing, many positive staff interactions, sales interaction and on-boarding was excellent on front-end.

My husband and I placed a loved one at Brighton Gardens, and we are very happy with the care and compassion that the entire staff has shown. We live three hours away, and we feel that this was the best place for the following reasons: 1. The location is convenient, and easy to navigate. 2. Everyone who works there is professional, caring, and willing to help out any way they can. 3.. The entire facility is clean, and the food is excellent. 4. Residents are happy, as I talked to some of them in the dining room, and common areas where activities take place. 5. The staff communicates well with residents and their families. Phone calls and emails are ALWAYS answered in a timely manner. It is so good to know that Brighton Gardens will care for our loved one. Peace of mind is important.

My mother lived here from April 27, 2017 until 12/27/21. When we first moved her there, it took a little time to get her situated. To this day, my mother still has her mind, thank goodness. My mom caught, along with myself witnessing that they were not giving her medication correctly. Mom had to correct them on multiple occasions. We finally got her doctor to approve for her to self medicate. This worked great until she fell on Thursday night, 10/28/21. She was taken by ambulance to hospital and released next morning. All tests revealed no broken bones and CT of head was negative. Mom was confused though Friday, 10/29. Rather than giving her the help she needed short term, her level of care was immediately increased at excessive pricing for services she never received beyond the first day. I later found out from nurse filling in for Precious while she was on maternity leave that the facility was suppose to wait 5 days to reassess resident before considering increasing their level of care. When the nurse told me this, I immediately knew then, that the facility cared more about money than truly caring about taking a little extra effort for a few days. As it turned out, mom was fine after Friday. Facility required for staff to administer her medicine and again, some of her medicine was not being given timely and it was quite frustrating that because the facility wanted to make the extra money instead of my mother taking it herself timely, they would not allow her to self medicate again after they jumped the gun on increasing her level of care! The facility had gone down a lot since we moved mom in and is in dire need of a facelift. Mom’s room was fifthy and there were many items that were so coated with dust when we moved her out, we had to throw them away. There were many days her trash was not emptied or her bed made. Amy Blalock was the glue trying to hold the place together but she did not have good management underneath her, some of which cared more about money than the residents. Then Amy left to go to Providence after being at the South Charlotte facility for many years. I knew then it was time to move mom. Mom tells me every day how much happier she is. Food is so much better and facility renovated inside in 2019 and is so much nicer and cleaner than where she was. I would highly recommend The Charlotte Assisted Living facility in Charlotte! Mom is settled in now since moving in on 12/27/21 and is so much happier!
