If you live near Belmont, NC and are looking for fun places to go with your kids, I recommend a visit to Davis Park. It has a lot of trees that provide ample shade on hot summer days. The playground is not as new as Kevin Loftin Riverfront Park which was recently renovated with all new equipment, but all of the nature make it feel like a hidden gem and it is a great place to beat the heat.

Charlotte Douglas airport is the biggest mess. I have lived here since 1977 and can't remember a time it wasn't under some kind of construction. Last number of years for new parking and there is still never a spot available. Checking bags is a mess. Do it yourself kiosks.. a mess, picking up luggage.. a mess. What else can I say except run down 85 to GSP
