Not that I'm aware of. I wouldn't want to anyways even if it was a possibility. The water looks extremely muddy & murky. A lot of sticks, logs, & debris. I know people fish, canoe, & kayak from the deck there (and even sun bathe there at times) but I've never seen anyone swim there.
Yes it is River and park is one of the many Riverside access you can enjoy on the Catawba River.
No but i think you might be able to on the other side of the river at the nature preserve
I was wandering that myself.
If you have them bring them as at this time they do not have rentals
