Incompetence with authority equals Incompetence without reasoning. My family and I were attending a football game to support our daughters school band. Going straight to the band section at one side of the bleachers we stood at ground level to get some quick pictures of our daughter. Belmont police Officer huffstetler approached and stood beside us as if we were in the wrong spot or about to enter an area that was off limits. After a few minutes of awkwardness we decided to take our seats and avoid huffstetler. Then huffstetler told us in a very rude manner to use the other stairs to get to same location. So we asked him why, and immediately huffstetler became aggressive saying he was not dealing with this while switching on his body camera. He stated the stairway is to busy. (See photo). Officer huffstetler pointed to the stairway in the middle of the bleachers and told us we would have to go around. Obviously this is always the busiest stairway at any game in any county, in any country, in the world EVER. So we complied and proceeded to our seats. After a minute we noticed huffstetler approach our daughters' band director and started talking while pointing us out in the crowd. After the conversation was over and a few minutes passed another officer approached huffstetler and huffstetler repeated the same conversation with this officer. I'm only assuming this due to the need of huffstetler to again point us out in the crowd. This persisted the entire game with multiple parties. Now that most of school staff and some of the county officers know who we are and associates my daughter with us, I hope it does not negativity impact her reputation at her school. I am typing this while at the game so the ending is TBD. This is the incompetence of law enforcement that forces citizens not to trust and/or question anything and everything they say. These types of actions of the Belmont police department show that there oath is only to themselves to protect the department and serve themselves. I have lived in and around this county my entire life and not once have I had a good experience with any of the Belmont police officers. This exchange just reaffirms my thoughts of the department and how they train their officers to force it's hand in all situation. And to use their authority to their fullest extent possible. Asking us to go a certain direction is one thing but then approaching my daughter's teachers and school staff is uncalled for. Unfortunately officer huffstetler was not trained on how to use his authority. (Mathew 5:5"He who has a sword, and knows how to use it, but keeps it sheathed shall inherit the earth.") Google needs to add negative stars to appropriately explain the writers point.

Extremely rude and out dated.
Elgin Bailey
My name is Elgin Bailey and I was involved in a accident on July 22 on hwy85 in front of the scale house right before the My Holly exit! A Tractor trailer truck rear ended me in front of the scale house. I was injured and called the policeman , officer R. Gallo came out And never even asked me what happened and spoke to the other driver over 20 mins. Came to me and said what were you doing π, I said driving, this man got my license and came back and said I was at fault. I never seen anything like this in my life . I could have lost my life , my job , everything that I work hard for to achieve. The pictures clearly state that I was rear ended. This town is definitely Barney and Andy from Mayberry . Be careful when coming through Belmont!

Some are nice some are not I don't know why maybe they're just having a bad day but I do enjoy talking to the nice officer in the blue. I would protect you as you should protect me period when I ask a question about my safety being in a certain river area cleaning the water shores I expect an honest answer not a mean rude answer. Hope you guys adjust the mix. Prayers.
